My Family visited Sol Don Pedro, Torremolinos, in the first week of the UK school holidays on a half board basis. We arrived around 2.30pm to be told that the room would not be ready until 4pm, a real pet hate of ours. We had to drop our luggage in a storage room and immediately find a place in town to eat lunch. On getting to the room our first impressions were that it was very small...much, much smaller than the image on the Jet2 booking website, however for sleeping and showering purposes it was adequate. Also, there were no complimentary coffee making facilities in the room and guests are expected to hire a kettle for €15 if they require this. Something we've never experienced on holiday before! We were situated on the first floor directly above the Bar Jerez so our pool view was marginally obscured by the bars outdoor sun canopy and fortunately with a 10yr old child on board, the live entertainment only went on until 11.30pm every night so we were able to get some sleep. Location....very accessible to the beach promenade but please be made aware that there is a frequently strong drainage smell when entering/exiting the resort. Facilities...our advice, pay to stay at the cheaper Don Pedro, but use all the facilities of the Don Pablo (including the restaurant) which are far more superior. Finally, on the last night of our holiday, just before an early departure the next day, we had a problem with our room safe whereby it wouldn't open with our preset code with some of our valuables still inside. This matter was handled very quickly and efficiently by the maintenance staff even after 10pm. All in all this is a good all round stay if your expectations are not too high.
This is our 2nd stay at the property. Our first was Don Marco as a couple and this time at the Don Pedro with family. We have fallen in love with the place and are looking to return again next year. We booked 3 Superior Rooms with Solarium which were amazing with their own 2 sunbeds per room with umbrella. The pools are great too, but the sunbeds are usually taken by around 10am which is still very good in my opinion. The staff are all great, friendly and helpful. The cleaners in this complex are on another level and you always see them on mass throughout the day. We had the half board option, breakfast is fantastic and we chose lunch (again so much choice and good quality) as our meal option before eating out at the many beatiful restaurants on the sea front. The aircon was good and our only negatives are: 1. The minifridge was not the coldest and 2. The rooms can sleep 3, but I'd say it would be a squeeze if you did. Apart from those 2 small points, this place is our new regular holiday destination.
We have just returned from our eighth visit.we only stayed 4 nights this time in a pool access room.this is the third time we have stayed in this type of room, its great to step out of the room and out to the pool area.this time was a little disappointing as previous years we have had dressing gowns flip flops and bag, also a mini bar in the room but none of that this time.having stayed here multiple times before we knew what to expect with the restaurants and bars.obviously the world cup was on whilst we were there and we were able to watch England Argentina game on Wednesday in the hotel unfortunately we left on Sunday before the final.we usually stay in Sept which has less children so bit quieter, the pool area was very noisy with lots of teenagers bombing in the pool and screaming and shouting the pool attendants didn't take any notice and there should have been a few times they should have told them not to keep bombing and splashing everyone.the staff here were as always great, very friendly and efficient if you need anything reception staff were great.weve been coming to torremolinos for 16 years and always have a lovely stay.i believe the pedro will be having a refurbishment this year so very much looking forward to seeing that.im sure we will be returning for a 9th visit.
Beautiful hotel very clean and modern. Staff friendly & polite. Food ok lots of choice but nothing special. Room comfortable but very strange bathroom scenario, shower & toilet both in glass pods, sink in the main room. No wardrobes - clothes had to be kept in the suitcases very little space to hang anything on a fixture dividing the beds from the sink, hard to keep the room tidy. Mini fridge & safe in the room. Shampoo & shower gel.provided but we used our own. Sunbeds was a frustrating issue you couldn't leave your bed to have a swim without receiving a notice stating your towels would be removed same scenario again lunch time, we came to relax not timekeep. No cushions on the loungers soo uncomfortable we expect a little luxury for the price we paid. It's advertised as Adult recommended- not! it was full of noisy children and screaming babies we didnt mind so much but i guess it woukd put some people off if your looking for a peaceful break. Overall nice holiday in a lovely spot not far from.the beach and bars etc.
