This is our 2nd stay at the property. Our first was Don Marco as a couple and this time at the Don Pedro with family. We have fallen in love with the place and are looking to return again next year. We booked 3 Superior Rooms with Solarium which were amazing with their own 2 sunbeds per room with umbrella. The pools are great too, but the sunbeds are usually taken by around 10am which is still very good in my opinion. The staff are all great, friendly and helpful. The cleaners in this complex are on another level and you always see them on mass throughout the day. We had the half board option, breakfast is fantastic and we chose lunch (again so much choice and good quality) as our meal option before eating out at the many beatiful restaurants on the sea front. The aircon was good and our only negatives are: 1. The minifridge was not the coldest and 2. The rooms can sleep 3, but I'd say it would be a squeeze if you did. Apart from those 2 small points, this place is our new regular holiday destination.
My Family visited Sol Don Pedro, Torremolinos, in the first week of the UK school holidays on a half board basis. We arrived around 2.30pm to be told that the room would not be ready until 4pm, a real pet hate of ours. We had to drop our luggage in a storage room and immediately find a place in town to eat lunch. On getting to the room our first impressions were that it was very small...much, much smaller than the image on the Jet2 booking website, however for sleeping and showering purposes it was adequate. Also, there were no complimentary coffee making facilities in the room and guests are expected to hire a kettle for €15 if they require this. Something we've never experienced on holiday before! We were situated on the first floor directly above the Bar Jerez so our pool view was marginally obscured by the bars outdoor sun canopy and fortunately with a 10yr old child on board, the live entertainment only went on until 11.30pm every night so we were able to get some sleep. Location....very accessible to the beach promenade but please be made aware that there is a frequently strong drainage smell when entering/exiting the resort. Facilities...our advice, pay to stay at the cheaper Don Pedro, but use all the facilities of the Don Pablo (including the restaurant) which are far more superior. Finally, on the last night of our holiday, just before an early departure the next day, we had a problem with our room safe whereby it wouldn't open with our preset code with some of our valuables still inside. This matter was handled very quickly and efficiently by the maintenance staff even after 10pm. All in all this is a good all round stay if your expectations are not too high.
BEEARE IF TRAVELLING IN A GROUP OF MORE THAN 2 Rooms are extremely small - our first allocated room was literally 3 beds butted together without any other room. To get in/out of bed you needed to crawl to the end. The rooms are so small suitcase had to be left on the balcony. This wasn't possible for us due to a medical condition - I asked to move. This was accommodated but meant we had to spend 9:30am - 3pm without a room and all our belongings packed back in suitcases. New room was better but still of the same size - this time there was a double and small child's bed, rather than 2 singles and child bed, meaning we could get in/out of bed with ease. Unfortunately this room smelt of sewage until at least lunch time. Balcony just about has room for 2 chairs and a mini table.
No kettle facilities in the room and charge of €15 for one, if you like a brew take a travel kettle.
Sun-beds were all occupied by 8;30, at the latest. There is a 1hr 15min rule to return but this is monitored in the morning at approximately 9am and then never checked again. All beds taken but usually not occupied (and I'm not just meaning people are in the pool - they're gone all day, away from the pool side).
If you're travelling with children no balls/floats etc allowed in the pools at Pedro, just worth noting.
Cleanliness and food quality is the hotel's saving grace, as well as its beach front location.
Pedro is much quieter than Pablo, which worked best for us, just wish the room sizes were bigger.
We had a lovely stay at Sol Torremolinos Don Pedro. The hotel is in a great location, very close to the beach and promenade.
The room was quite small, but it was clean and had everything we needed. The food was good, with plenty of choice, although I wouldn’t say it was excellent. There are plenty of swimming pools, which was a big plus, and there was always somewhere to relax.
Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and would recommend the hotel, especially for its location, pools and good facilities.
We have just returned from a weeks stay as a family of 4 adults and 2 children. The hotel is very good, spotlessly clean with towels changed daily and bedding every few days. The food is good with plenty of choice at all meals. Lunch is served in the Don Pablo which is really busy! This was the only negative re: food. Entertainment was excellent and the children enjoyed the mini disco. The rooms are very small which was a downfall. Staff were so friendly and helpful! Would definitely return and would highly recommend!
