Sol Don Pablo

Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with family at this hotel. The hotel is stunning. Beautifully laid out, very well maintained and spacious. The rooms are immaculately clean, spacious and an incredible view of the pool beach and ocean. The food was decent yet repetitive. The drinks were on point and perfect. The bar staff were great, super friendly and quick. The wait staff at the buffet were a little too business like and not friendly nor helpful. There are several pools but they get reserved super quickly. The lifeguards tag your chairs and remove towels in the morning. Sadly, they have no way of doing it throughout the day and chairs that are reserved are left there unoccupied for hours. There weren’t enough chairs for the amount of people at the hotel at any of the pools. The main pool appears to have been refrigerated as it was frigidly cold and given we were there in 40 degree Celsius weather, the temperature of the pool made zero sense. The other pools temperature was perfect. The beach is not on site. You have to walk through an alley way and cross the main street to get there but it’s not a far walk. The main strip has plenty to see and do. Overall we had a wonderful stay here. It’s close to everything either by walking, train or Uber. The hotel is beautiful. Improvement - service needs to be more guest friendly and allow guests to enjoy their drinks in the pool. There was no pool bar and they wouldn’t allow any drinks of any kind in the pool or on the edge of the pool. Pretty strict.

Just returned from a short stay - lovely hotel and holiday! Good location to beach and lots of shops and bars close by if you want to venture out and about.

Lots of positives and very few negatives however these may influence what you would want in your holiday.

Hotel was clean and room was spacious enough for a family of 4. Beds were very comfortable and bathroom was very good. We didn’t have any issues locating sunbeds - there was always somewhere to get some.

We only stayed bed and breakfast but the selection and availability for breakfast was fantastic. We also think the hotel bar and pool snacks were reasonably priced for such a hotel. Staff were very helpful and polite.

Although this hotel was lovely, there were a few things that would prevent me booking in future -

We had a family room on the 9th floor, we didn’t have a balcony, which was something we missed having, particularly as our children are older now and that risk has decreased. (we didn’t actually ask to be relocated so hotel didn’t have a chance to rectify and they may have been able to).

It is a very big hotel, lots of lifts, walking distance from pool to room is a bit of a day trip if you forget to bring something down 🤣 at busy times we felt we waited ages to get moving.

I felt the pools were small for the size of the hotel - a large one at top seemed to naturally be for adults and the smaller one had families and children in and around. One thing that really annoyed me was that between 11-1/2 both pools were taken up with adult activities. children had to come out the pool so that the adults could do polo or exercise. This happened in both pools - surely a better way would to just make activities longer in the big pool and keep the smaller available for children to play, Particularly as it’s a family hotel and another on site is adult only anyway.

Overall hotel is lovely and we had a great time, but I would prob avoid if you have children who don’t want to be in a kids club, you have mobility issues or want something a little smaller and quieter from your holiday experience.

We have just returned home from one week at Don Pablo and we are very impressed with everything. Location is amazing. Beachfront, rooms very spacious, lovely food (all inclusive can be repetitive though). Pools lovely; however people put towels down to reserve very early and then go off to eat so we couldn't always get the area we wanted but overall we came back with a good tan and plenty of memories
