The Sol Torremolinos Don Marco is one of three hotels in a complex together and is the adults section, so is much quieter than the Don Pedro and Don Pablo. It has the feel of a boutique hotel, welcoming reception area with plenty places to sit and chat or have a quiet moment. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the sea, bars, restaurants are plentiful and the area is really nice and pleasant to walk around. The Hotel upon arrival were great, it was really quiet when we arrived and check in was swift and efficient and offering a welcome drink of bubbles is always a plus for me. Our room was a Superior Sea View Room and was overlooking the sea at the front of the hotel, It was a really nice room. Beds were comfy, Pillows not so. Hair Dryer, Safe, Kettle, Soap, Shower Gel etc provided. No water in the room, which for a 4 star hotel we feel should be provided, you can get a small bottle at the bar as part of the all inclusive so why not in the room. Cleanliness of the room was OK, not brilliant but ok. The cleaners came in daily but even after that, the floors still seamed a little dirty, the floors were mopped but not vacuumed before hand. The sink area wasn't cleaned properly only inside of the bowl. Just little things let it down. The Hotel itself is immaculate and the grounds and pool areas are really lovely. The Don Pablo and Pedro pool areas can get a little lively and loud during the day, hence our stay in the Don Marco, it was much quieter and there were some lovely terraces for loungers, although the loungers themselves could do with being replaced as they did look rather grotty and tatty. The All Inclusive drinks menu was ok, you could get a drink but as with AI not all drinks are inluded. There were 3 restaurants to use when we arrived, however after the first day our little restaurant that we could use for breakfast was closed and therefore went down to 2 restaurants, which at times could be busy, we tended to go into the restaurant in the Don Pedro for breakfast as it was quieter than the main restaurant. The Food: Well you wouldn't starve but it was a bit repetitive. If you liked fish and red meat it was great, however if you dont't eat Read meat the choices for Chicken were far less . The Salad Bar was great but who wants salad every day, so some days we would eat out for lunch therefore we felt the food could be better. The Staff are great, especially in Bar Jerez, Jorge, is a credit to the hotel and works really hard and always happy and polite, along with Luis, Juan and Pedrow ... Would we go again, yes we would ... It's a great hotel but it does need a couple of tweeks.

I hadn't realised at time of booking the three hotels were linked. I had booked the Don Marco as it was a recommended "adults only" and we only had four nights/three days to have a relaxed chilled weekend to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We didn't make use of any of the entertainment on site. In certain areas of the hotel there was no aircon either this was a let down.
We opted for the top floor superior room. Wasnt worth paying the extra didn't look like the pictures on the outside. The room aircon was terrible I complained three times and it never got any better. The sound proofing of the room seemed good as the entertainment outside didn't really come into the room.
Cleanliness was fine, public areas and toilets looked after.
We had breakfast booked and opted to eat in the adults only breakfast room. Let down by the staff that allowed children to breakfast in the same room. One of the mornings a staff member finally said to a group that children weren't allowed in the dining room. The breakfast was only luke warm.
Happy hour at the bar was beneficial but there wasnt enough staff on to serve at this time.
The adults only pool again children came and used the facility as there was no staff or lifeguard at this pool it wasn't monitored. The adults only pool lacked atmosphere there were speakers all round the area but no music was pumped through them. The only time they're was any atmosphere was when aqua aerobics took place in one of the other resorts pools and the music boomed out it was great. There were no toilet facilities near the adults only pool. You either had to cross the bridge over to the other resort or go down through the reception to the toilets there.
Nice enough hotel, good location. Wanted it to be special but it lacked in that department. Will I return or would I recommend... Probably not
Wow! This hotel has been amazing from start to finish. We booked a 5 night break through Jet2. Having accidentally chosen a superior room, I am so glad we did.
On arrival, you are dropped off outside a complex and shown in the right direction. We didn’t realise it at the time but there are 3 linked hotels, all of which you can use throughout your stay. It didn’t look much from outside of the main gate but we were pleasantly surprised once we understood the sections. A security guard pointed us in the right direction. It’s a shame that that coach doesn’t drop you off inside the complex as that would have just put the icing on the cake. We didn’t enjoy hanging about on the road at the end of our stay either. I would recommend a private transfer as the transfer time is so short.
At check in, we were greeted by friendly staff, offered a glass of fizz and directed to all of the essential places via a handy map. We were initially put off by the size of the place but soon realised that this would be its selling point as there were so many places to go. We used the time in-between checkin to explore fully. There are places to relax in adult only areas, fun pools, jacuzzis, lounge bars, kid zones. You name it, it has it. The kids area even has its own splash zone. The sun bed situation wasn’t a major issue for us as we had our own but when we came down to use them, a lot were reserved. The hotel has an hour and 15 minute reservation limit but didn’t see anyone action this. There is definitely more space for loungers. Some people were putting towels down early in the mornings. For a big complex, this needs to be addressed so that everyone can lounge when they choose to without having to go on the hunt for spare beds.
Our room was fantastic and we were provided with flip flops and towels. We had our own sun loungers on an astroturfed balcony. Our first mini bar was complementary and all essentials included in the bathroom. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The tv was easy to use and had English channels. Our room was serviced every day.
The restaurants were in the sister hotels. We preferred the smaller one as it seemed less busy and a bit easier to get around. Staff were friendly but a little slow at taking drinks orders. We had to catch the eye of someone to call them over most nights. Food was good with a wide range. It didn’t seem to offer themed nights and some foods were tricky to put together to make a meal. There were plenty of vegetarian options and they catered for allergies well. Signs made it easy to see what you were choosing. Show cooking was good. I enjoyed the meatballs and pasta options. There was plenty for the children too. Offering hotdogs, burgers, fish bites and pizzas. Breakfast was plentiful too. We never left feeling hungry.
Entertainment was across three areas. We were there for the World Cup final and the atmosphere was amazing. Staff did everything to get the crowd going and offered face painting for all guests. On other nights, the mini disco kicked everything off and then the shows were great. The nature party was fantastic.
We enjoyed the gym facilities with high quality equipment. We opted for the gym within the Don Marco. Exercise classes were available throughout the day in other places. Water biking looked very fun.
The location of this hotel is great. It’s just a small walk to the steps/ lift to get to the top. Our rep encouraged us to get on the train and visit Malaga as it was dead easy. He didn’t try to sell excursions we didn’t need. We were so glad we did it. There’s so many places you can go from this starting point.
I really, really, really didn’t want to come home from this place. I’ve taken a few holidays recently but this one exceeded my expectations and it certainly won’t be my last visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
This hotel is one of the nicest hotels we have visited. The staff from the receptionists, bar staff, waiters and maid service were excellent. Professional, helpful and courteous. We stayed in a top floor room and it was very good. Pool and sea view and with a huge balcony. Small bathroom but perfectly adequate. Plenty of pools to choose from due to the shared facilities with Don Pedro and Pablo. Sunbeds aplenty but obviously people had their preferred pool so there were issues with people towel reserving early, however after a warning, the hotel gave you 1 and a half hours to occupy your beds. A very good solution to a universal problem.Food excellent. We ate in the Don Pedro, smaller and more easy to navigate. We tried the Don Pablo, a lot bigger, but still very nice.Good entertainment, especially in the Beach Club. Will definitely return.
