IF YOUR BRITISH YOU WILL NOT ENJOY !! firstly the spainish go to this hotel and dont like BRITISH people one bit we had doors slammed in out faces horrible looks just so much rudeness! The entertainment team speak in Spanish and only Spanish are invited to do activities! You have to pay for a cup on our last day it was awful and flights was cancelled we lost our cups and tried to get more as staff must have tidied them away we had paid all inclusive bar staff wouldn't give us more cups !! Ants all in 6th floor bed room in the beds the lot . Food is for Spanish and i know we're in spain but its very much the same every night. Air-conditioning very loud and does nothing.
An honest and open review as I always do. Good points…. The rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily, the staff were absolutely fantastic always smiling and helpful, there we not a mad rush for dinners in a morning, the pool was lovely and just the right temperature, getting into town was simple with the train station just behind the hotel, the food was more than adequate (and I’m a picky eater) The only real issues we had was a couple of times, we had an outbreak of ants in the room and other guests of a certain nationality were incredibly rude. Not wanting to queue and pushing in front, but one of my main gripes was the amount of holiday makers by the pool or surrounding areas with their phones on loud listening to what I can only assume was Spanish tik tok. I spent a fair amount of money to relax and put my feet up, I don’t want to hear other peoples music or videos playing while I am trying to enjoy our holiday. I personally would ban any guest from using their phones without headphones. My final moan was that the entertainment was predominantly aimed for the Spanish guests (in my opinion there was at least 80% Spanish holiday makers) and not once were we asked if we would like to join in with anything. So to be fair, the hotel was fantastic in itself, but there were very few people for my wife and I to socialise with as I can’t speak Spanish.
Was a little apprehensive before arrival having read all the negative reviews on the old TripAdvisor review page that has many reviews from the hotel under its previous name.
The hotel had a huge refurb during its rebranding and I couldn't fault it for cleanliness, service and facilities.
We stayed on an AI package and had ample choice during all meal times. There's also the usual drinks service within the restaurant, where you can help yourself to soft drinks, fruit juices, water, wine, tea & coffee. Meal choices varied and there was always something tasty to eat.
Hotel is in a residential area, therefore the bar closes around 11pm. The area surrounding the hotel also closes down early in the evening.
Transport from airport to hotel cost approx. €10 in a private taxi.
I so want to write a nice review about this hotel as it has lots of good things…but it also has some really bad things…
So let’s start with the good
The pool is brilliant, they have foam parties and it’s lovely and warm and not too many people in it and it’s really easy to get sun beds around it. We spent hours and hours in this pool without once getting bored or cold.
The daytime bar is good. Drinks are easy to come by (if very weak) the staff are friendly and the snack food is repetitive but good….
However
The room - the aircon was so loud it made it basically impossible to sleep. It made the entire room vibrate and in the end we had to try and sleep in boiling hot temperatures as that was better than hearing what sounded like a motorbike revving up in our room. I genuinely considered sleeping in the bath it was that bad. Genuinely I know air con can be a bit noisy but this was unbelievable.
If that didn’t keep you up then the infestation of ants would…ants on the floor, in the bed, in the bathroom just about everywhere….and it wasn’t just our room lots of people were complaining about ants everywhere
The food at meal times was also really really poor. The best I can liken it to is really bad school dinners and don’t get me started on how crowded the dining room was and how rude people are. One of our party even got pushed to the side by a member of staff for not understanding her Spanish properly.
Some of the plugs didn’t work in our room either and on night one our keycard didn’t work and it took a good 45 minutes after being exhausted from a late flight to even get into our room. We talked to the front desk about all of these problems and they said someone would come up that day and look but no one ever did.
Then there was the entertainment….it was of a really poor standard and going on till midnight each night louder than a slipknot concert.
We are not fussy people and just make do most of the time and we had a lovely time around the pool each day but I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you like to sleep or eat nice food at meal times.
I want to say this is by no means the staffs fault as they were nearly all lovely…
Such a shame as like I said so many good things about this hotel but so many really really really bad things as well…
Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights leaving today. The only positive is closeness to the airport and train station. The hotel itself was always clean which is as far as praise for the property can go. You have to have cash to rent both beach towels and also cups to be able to get the all inclusive. There is only one bar by the pool for drinks, in the evening you could easily wait over 20 minutes for a drink. The food was awful at every meal and always cold and where unable to even take a cup of coffee out of the dining hall without being told off by staff. The animation team made no effort to include anyone who didnt speak to Spanish meaning that we had no idea what was being said in any of the evening entertainment. There is no place for entertainment inside so all evening shows took place outside so very very loud if you dont intend to watch them if your room is pool side. The staff are all very rude bar one nice girl on reception. We didnt manage to get a sun lounger once so ended up going to rhe beach which was a 10 minute walk and very nice. Do not book this hotel it made what was supposed to be a relaxing break anything but relaxing but rather very stressful with all the rules and the general attitude of staff at the property.
