This historic hotel is situated just across the promenade in Torremolinos, in the quiet area between La Carihuela and Solymar districts a 10 to 15 minute walk from the centre of the popular resort. Links to the public transport are available within 100 metres and the Malaga airport is just 20 minutes' drive away. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, all of the dining options of the venue come with an added bonus of wonderful views. Regardless if one is enjoying a meal at the buffet restaurant, signature cocktail in the bar or snack in the garden, the sea will always be within his/hers gaze. The same holds true for the rooms, each of the well-appointed units comes with a balcony offering side or full sea views.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Was recently at the Pez for the 10th time in a suite with the tub on the balcony , as normal staff great , Room Great and food very good. Was very disappointed with the quality of the pool towels, changed three times and received towels with holes in and frayed beyond repair on two occasions , not what I expect from the Pez. My biggest concern is a personal issue because I am allergic to Animal fur and when I noticed dogs in the hotel I was surprised because in all of the years we have been going I have never seen a dog in the hotel, it’s something I will need to take into consideration before booking again which is such a shame after the great times we have had in the past .
This was our second time staying at Pez, and once again, we found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and nicely presented. We really couldn’t fault the rooms, and we have enjoyed coming here. However, after our second visit, we probably wouldn’t return again. The breakfast service was great, with a good variety of food to choose from. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel the same about the dinner service. There wasn’t a great deal of choice for children, which made mealtimes a little difficult. The pool area is also starting to look quite tired, particularly the children’s pool, which we feel is in need of a revamp. We also paid a €20 deposit per person for the beach towels. Unfortunately, the towels were quite embarrassing — many had holes in them and looked very old and worn. We feel these really need replacing. Overall, it’s still a nice hotel in a lovely location, and we have enjoyed our stays here. There are just a few areas that we feel need some attention and updating, especially considering the overall standard we would expect.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Approximately 15 -20mins from Malaga airport and it is right on the beach. We stayed for a 4 night family break. We had 2 superior pool view & side sea rooms. The rooms were spacious and the safe was free to use although the furniture and fittings in the room and bathroom looked dated. The balcony was relatively small compared to other hotels I have stayed in. The swimming pool is also very small. We were HB and the breakfast and dinner options were ok. Despite the positives about the hotel, there were things we were not happy about. The main issue was the WiFi connection in our rooms. We were on the 2nd floor. When we reported to reception that it was very poor. They said it was because we were using iphone handsets. However this was not the case, we had a mixture of iphone and Android handsets. The reception did not appear bothered or concerned about the lack of WiFi in our rooms. We ended up using our data to access the Internet throughout our stay which was an additional cost for us. Overall, the location was excellent. It is on the beach, close to shops and restaurants and walking distance to Benalmadena marina but we were put off by the poor customer service and lack of attention to detail from staff and the poor WiFi in the rooms so I will not be staying in this hotel again as there are so many other hotels in the area.
We arrived at the hotel and were given a corner room with a lovely view of the beach/sea. I was extremely happy with my first impressions. We did not use many of the hotel facilities (bar/pool) as we spent the days on the beach. The breakfast was ok, I have had much better. The pool towels given at reception were quite old and worn (especially the beige ones we were given). My biggest complaint and the reason I am giving 3 stars was the lack of washing facilities on check out day. We had a late flight at 9:30pm so we checked out at 12pm. We were told they do not offer facilities to shower and when I queried this as other hotels do, the man at reception was quite rude. Having to fly home after a day at the beach, covered in suncream is not ideal. Thankfully it was just my husband and I, we did not bring our children. But for this reason, I would not be returning with my children. The location is perfect, however having previously stayed in our hotels in the same area, I would not return to the Pez Espada.
This was my second time staying at the hotel. Our room was the same as last time very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast and dinner buffet continues to have plenty of choice. The pool area is slightly improved. It was my friends first time and she has already booked to go back.
