Location is ok. Atmosphere without a personality. Rooms clean. Value for money - questionable Staff needs training to welcome guests
Stayed on the fourth floor with a sea view, hotel situated in an area which was slightly quieter that what was on offer a 20 min walk away. Hotel breakfast. dinner and lunch was good. Food prepared fresh each day. We had a half board stay and they offered us the option of lunch or evening meal. It was good to have this flexibility. As it was an adult trip we used the roof top pool daily, we were there from when it opened to secure sun loungers. If you arrived later in the day these couldn’t be guaranteed. Not really enough beds on offer for the amount of people. Definitely not enough canopies for shade on the lower platforms. There were brollies dotted around mind you. There is an option to hire more luxurious private beds, didn’t really see these occupied, only the odd time. These were priced at eur 30 and eur 50. We hired Sun loungers on the beach which were affiliated to the hotel at at reasonable cost. If you’d like a cabana you would be well advised to prebook. The staff that work at this hotel are very hard working and polite. If you don’t get a bed on the rooftop area there is an elevated platform above the ground floor pool. Most children and families choose to sit nearer the water so this is a good option if you’d prefer a quieter sunbathe. The sun does cover the pool and loungers (including the platform) in the afternoon as it comes round, this suited us as we enjoy the shade. Found the drinks to be good value. The rooftop bar has a DJ in the evening, we enjoyed this, it was a nice view and used it most nights to close our evening off.
This hotel is the best I’ve stayed in, from the cleaners bar staff restaurant staff reception staff maintenance staff they all gave 100% , the breakfast was very good lots of choice, the hotel is immaculately clean , we had a great time , the staff should be proud of what they deliver .
Just returned from our second trip to this hotel in 2 years. Stayed on the 9th floor with a seaview, had the best chilled week away and would definitely return. We stayed B&B as we enjoy eating out locally, Tapas etc. Staff at the hotel very friendly and always happy to help. No sunbed issues at all, even at 9.30/10am you will still get one.
Sadly, I expected a little more from this hotel after having stayed at other Meliá hotels previous
On the positive side, the food was of a good standard and the staff were very friendly. However, there were several issues that really affected our stay.
We booked a room for three adults, yet we constantly had to chase the hotel to have the room properly prepared for three people with a toilet loose for two days
the gym equipment was out of action . When I raised this with management, I was told that the gym was being refurbished and they didn’t really want to spend money on the equipment in the meantime. While I understand that refurbishments happen, that doesn’t make it acceptable when you’re paying full price and expecting the facilities advertised to be available during your stay.
The music by the pool was also questionable, and there were restricted numbers of sunbeds around the hotel There were plenty available on the beach, but these came at an additional cost. You also need to be aware of the extra charge for beach towels.
Despite all this, we did enjoy our trip to Torremolinos, but unfortunately we would not stay at this hotel again. The experience left me feeling that management were putting profits and there bonus before customer service.
What really disappointed me was how the situation was handled. Management offered us a bottle of €3 cava . I appreciate the gesture, but when you’ve paid the full price for three adults a cheap bottle of cava isn’t an adequate solution.
The frustrating part is that this could have been turned around very quickly with better and a more appropriate response from management. Unfortunately, by the end of our stay, the offer of cava felt more like an insult than compensation.
