This pleasant hotel is located directly in Torremolinos' tourist centre. The beautiful sandy Carihuela Beach and the town centre with its many shops, boutiques, bars and nightclubs are within metres of the hotel and are ideal for the ones who like to explore. The establishment was built in 1968 and completely renovated in 1991. In their leisure time, guests can work on their tan at the solarium or rest and relax on a lounger directly under the sun. The more active guests can play billiards. There is a seasonally variable entertainment programme available. All the rooms have been tastefully furnished and offer a lounge area and an en-suite bathroom. They are equipped with cosy beds and all the essential amenities to make each stay the most pleasant one.

Air con nightmare
We've stayed here many times and never had any issues. On this occasion we had a room where the Aircon was not working only blowing out warm air. I appreciate it was very hot but this is Spain after all and you'd expect it to work. We complained on day one only for them to come to the room and with 'their' remote control turn it down to its lowest setting, we had no remote! That evening it was still blowing out warm air and they then suggested it was too late for the maintenance to look at it again. That evening we ended up sleeping on the balcony as it was unbearably hot in the room. Complained again the next morning after zero sleep and a few hours later a man arrived with a compressor and ended up blowing dust from the Aircon unit. We left the room for the morning leaving the Aircon going and on our return it was still blowing hot air. Having now asked twice to be moved they suggested all rooms were full and that wasn't an option. They couldn't provide us with a fan either after asking at reception. We asked to be moved that night and again no other room was available ( also suggested we should have told them earlier so as they could have fixed it 🤷) we ended up booking another hotel for the evening as sleep deprivation was well and truly set in . We stayed the night at another hotel at our cost and went promptly back to the Kristal the next morning requesting another room for our last evening. They did put us in another room and all was well although this was a normal room with no balcony but that really wasn't an issue.
As I mentioned above we have stayed here several times, it's budget but does the job and the staff are great, I believe Antonio was the guy who booked us in and he was great. Sadly we will never visit this hotel again as we felt let down and the maintenance did very little to fix an obviously out of date broken air con unit. As above it was very hot and I appreciate that but these things maybe should be addressed in the colder months. Adiós Kristal
Much better than expected
I was a little worried about staying here. After reading mixed reviews. But I needn’t have. Position is excellent right in the heart of town. The front doesn’t look like the photo so it’s a little harder to find ( above cortefiel) . Near everything you could need. Rooms are beyond clean. Yes basic , but then it’s reflected in the price. Beds comfortable, Aircon worked… bathrooms very very clean. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is a base then this is perfect for you. Would definatly stay again!
Worst experience I’ve ever had
Where to start other than to say just avoid from the start!! I’m a seasoned traveller and have stopped in many hotels non have been as bad as hotel Krystal. 3* impossible!! Room was dirty, hair everywhere in the beds up the wall in the sink the shower the toilet. The smell that came when turning the air con on turned my stomach, the terrance no existent instead we had a view straight into someone else’s bathroom as they did into theirs no blinds for modesty or privacy. Would like to of complained but the 24 hour manned reception isn’t manned 24 hours. No cleaning service provided unless you do it yourself. The walls were covered in food drink and bodily fluids shall we say. Bar wasn’t manned so couldn’t get a drink. Location bang on and they could be doing so much better hight of season and the place was empty!!
No room service at all!
We have been in several Hotels, B&B in the last decade, but this one is the top bottom ever! Cleaning is a non existence service, toilet paper or bogroll as the English slang says kept in their stock, almost run out and they didnt left any. Also after 2 days asked for room service and nothing has been changed! Also cleaners when we saw them in the building and said hello, they barely said hello back, ruuuuude behaivour. Has anyone realised that the bloody turist brings their money here, we are whom pays their sallaries or they really do not get this as stupid as an empty bag? Also no remote control, you need to pay deposit 10 euro for a remote that I've never ever seen in my life, 5 bottons, on/off channel up/down and volume up/down. So we were told people steal this! Mate if you pay then still you could keep your remote with the TV too! First and last time here. We didnt know that this is Europe's biggest lgbtq and gay city, but how? If the service and the politeness is far from great, how could anyone tolerates the small ones when a wife and a housband are not respected I do wonder! Oh fridge is also none existence one, we had to go and buy a mobile car fridge that has 220V option, but of course the electric is switched off when you leave and remove the card, so boiling fridge that you receive. Bad-bad-bad, worse place ever!
