Location good, atmosphere ok, same food every day at least the breakfast was the same every day, very dissapointed . The hotel needs at least 2 more swiming pools , for the number of people that stays in the hotel, maybee some slides for teenagers... never go back ...😮‍💨

We stayed at this hotel two years ago and honestly had a five-star experience, which is why we decided to return this year during the school holidays. It took us a year to pay for the holiday, but we didn’t mind because we were so excited to come back.

My partner and daughter didn’t have a cleaner for the full 7 days, each day put the dirty towels in the bath to be changed but still no one came in. Most of the hotel staff genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, and I want to make it clear that the bar staff, reception staff and restaurant staff were mostly lovely and helpful.

Unfortunately, this holiday turned into a very different experience.

I slipped on the wet balcony and badly broke my wrist in two places. We had to get a taxi to Malaga hospital for treatment. While I appreciate that incidents and accidents can happen anywhere, what followed made an already difficult holiday much worse.

We also experienced some extremely rude behaviour in Malaga. My partner took our eight-year-old daughter to two cafés, where they sat down but were completely ignored and eventually left. At another shop, the owner told them, “No Spanish, no serve.” We appreciate that we were in Spain and respect the local culture, but the way we were treated left us very uncomfortable.

Back at the hotel, we had a particularly unpleasant experience with two of the young Spanish lifeguards.

The hotel’s own sign stated that sunbeds would be given away if they were left unattended for more than 30 minutes. We went for lunch and were gone for less than 15 minutes. When we returned, the two lifeguards had given our sunbeds to two young Spanish girls in rather small bikinis!

When we questioned them, they told us that we had been gone for an hour. This was simply not true. Other British guests actually witnessed what had happened and became involved because they could see we were being treated unfairly.

We complained to reception, and a lovely lady there told us to tell the lifeguards that she had authorised us to have our beds back. Despite this, they still refused. We eventually managed to find one sunbed.

With a badly broken wrist, I then asked one of the lifeguards for help moving the sunbed. He simply shook his head, leaving me to drag it a considerable distance with one arm.

We complained again at reception and also emailed the hotel that same day. Unfortunately, we received no response whatsoever. Even worse, from that point onwards, we felt there was an attitude of complete arrogance towards us.

There were also issues with some of the local guests. I completely understand that this is their homeland and that everyone has the right to enjoy the hotel, but some of the behaviour we experienced was extremely rude — people pushing in, showing very little consideration for others, and one person even spitting on the floor next to my child. Despite my broken wrist, Spanish kids also continued kicking a leather football around at full force in an area where toddlers were playing.

On the day we were due to fly home, my partner and son had their wristbands cut off in the morning, despite the fact that we didn’t fly until that evening. This meant we could no longer eat or drink at the hotel before our flight, which was another disappointment.

It genuinely breaks my heart to write this review because we loved this hotel two years ago. We came back expecting the same fantastic experience, but unfortunately the behaviour of a very small number of staff and guests completely ruined our holiday.

The majority of the staff were wonderful, and I have nothing but praise for the bar, reception and restaurant teams. However, the way we were treated by the lifeguards, combined with the hotel’s complete lack of response to our complaint, has left a very bitter taste.

Sadly, this experience has made us decide that we will never return to this hotel — and, unfortunately, we have been left feeling that we don’t want to return to Spain either.

Such a shame, because two years ago we had what we genuinely considered to be a five-star holiday.
