AluaSun Costa Park

This was our second year back to Aluasun hotel and unfortunately it wasn’t great. The staff were very rude and abupt not all the guys who welcomed you into the food hall were incredible and very warming and there was a young gentleman at the front desk and two older ladies who were also incredible. It seemed this year they didn’t seem to care, our room wasn’t ever cleaned properly there was hairs in the bathroom which wasn’t ours the stains on the wall from a drink which wasn’t ever cleaned, the bed sheets we’re disgusting and to get them cleaned seemed a issue to the cleaner. The cleaner was very rude and didn’t seem to want to do much we even left gifts and she didn’t seem to appreciate anything she even broke my sons items but we never complained as we still had hope. The food was good they had a big selection however the meats were never cooked properly it caused my husband to get food poisoning from eating chicken. The pools you could never get in as it was packed all the time and the Sun loungers always had towels on them at 7am which states this isn’t aloud yet the hotel did nothing about it. To extend your hours for the extra time in the room you have to be put onto a wish list and ask them after breakfast on the day you leave but even that was a issue they didn’t want to extend past 2pm but states you can pay for extra hours which we was more then happy to do. The entertainment was the same every day nothing really for adults it was manily for children which wasn’t like that 10months ago. They removed the bath from the room and put just a walk in shower which isn’t great for a family we refused to stay in the hotel throughout the day and nights because it was very boring and nothing to do. The beach was incredible and the town has a lot id hughly recommend the rock and reel pub. The towels everyday had stains on and this wasn’t just one towel it was 3 out of 4, the room wasn’t cleaned until 4pm and towels can between 4pm to 6pm which doesn’t really help. The hotel needs to look at the space it has and use every part make a adult only area so they can enjoy it too, the children need daytime entertainment and there needs some entertainment for older teen children as the kids mini disco is more for the younger ones. Overall the experience wasn’t great and i definitely will never return here again which is a real shame as we had such a different experience 10months ago.

This hotel is very far away from everything, there is a free bus that takes you to and from the beach. Taxis are really cheap also.

The rooms aren’t the best. Our cleaner only changed our bedding once and we were there for 10 days. The bathrooms are extremely dated and had bits of mould in the grout on the tiles. Family rooms are very spacious and lovely big balconies. We were on the 6th floor and the lifts were a bit of a nightmare.

The food is really nice, we found the food to be the best all inclusive style buffet we’ve had! They have different themed nights for the food. The alcohol is also really good and soft drinks. All the drinks apart from spirits (which are branded) are free pour which works really well.

The pools are great, not enough sunbeds though so if you want a sunbed you have to be at the pool and Que for one as the pool doesn’t open until 10am.

The entertainment is also very good! My children really enjoyed the mini discos and kids club.

Overall I would probably not return to this hotel but we did have a brilliant time. It’s good for families who are in a budget. The hotel is advertised as 4 stars but I would only give it 3.
