This superb golf and conference hotel enjoys an exclusive setting in the town of Guadalmina in the heart of the stunning Costa del Sol. The airport is about 40 minutes’ away by car. The hotel is located in close proximity to spectacular beaches and a wide range of entertainment and shopping venues in Puerto Banus. The hotel is set amidst luxuriant natural surroundings which it complements with elegance and style. The complex offers venues to host business meetings and other private events. To relax and rest, visitors can enjoy the outdoor pool area sunbathing or having a refreshing drink. The guest rooms are beautifully appointed, offering luxurious, comfortable atmosphere in which to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
A really lovely hotel, the pictures don't do it justice. Scrupulously clean, rooms tended daily. Rooms/bathrooms well set out including Aircon, fridge, ceiling fan and balcony.
Peaceful and quiet during the day but occasional noise break through at night of people returning to their rooms in the early hours.
Restaurant - breakfast offered a very comprehensive choice of hot, cold, fruits, cereals etc. however I found dinner a little more hit and miss. There appears to be only one bar which is a little soulless.
The swimming pool has strict opening hours of 11-6, so if you like an early swim this may impact you.
The location of the hotel makes it necessary to use taxis to get around and there is no local shop for buying water, snacks etc.
Having said all that I would return again as the hotel and service was really good.
A positive experience! We really like the city, and the hotel's location is just to our liking—which is exactly why we’ve come back for the third time in a row! We also noticed that the other guests are a good crowd. We’ll likely be back again!
A friend and I spent 3 nights at this hotel at the end of August to celebrate a milestone birthday. I mostly have good things to say as the hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Peter, on Reception, checked us in and was very pleasant and professional. Laura, too was really helpful and sat with us one morning and helped us plan a whole day of shopping, beach and evening activates. She gave us lots of advice including the dress code for an expensive restaurant we had booked for that evening. She even called us a taxi when we were ready to leave the hotel and we had a great day. The hotel facilities were good, including the pool, bar and leisure areas. The was a gym there and a spa too, but we did not manage to uses any of these facilities. We had half board and the food was okay. There was a good selection of hot and cold options for breakfast and an omelette station too. As I don't eat beef or pork or most fish, my choices for dinner were often quite limited but I made up for it with their lovely desserts! The bed rooms were comfortable and clean and fairly spacious. One of the downsides is that the hotel is in a residential area so walking everywhere from the hotel is not feasible. We got taxis everywhere so that worked for us. The only other downside is that there are no porters at the hotel. When we arrived, our coach driver dropped us off on the side road at the foot of the hotel. There was a steep slope to climb to get to the hotel entrance. My friend is disabled and has mobility issues and could not climb the slope with her suitcase. Even I struggled to pull my case up to the hotel the the baking heat. Once I got to the hotel, I could see that there were no porters and the two Receptionists were busy checking people in. I needed to help my friend to get up the slope and didn't have the strength to pull her suitcase up there. I had no choice but to ask another guest waiting to check-in if he would mind assisting me by pulling my friends case while I supported my friend up to the hotel. He agreed and I was very very grateful for his help. He too agreed that the hotel should have a porter service and said he would write a complaint to the hotel about it. Other than this we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return to Barcelo Marbella!
Omg what a fabulous place , the lovely Laura D made our day after a disappointing start just wonderful great level of communication, great front of house shes a star you totally need to invest in this person , it carried on went for some needed food and found Gema such a lovely lady fabulous food , hospitable these people make you wanna come back to this beautiful hotel , cant wait will rebook while we are here thank you so much a fabulous find … the premium suite is stunning , actually dont want to go home , feel so welcome unlike our experience to get to the hotel , the transfer was not good not kept in touch no communication, really bad experience painful so we got a taxi here , it cost us but was worth it for the extra hours and we were just left , no hospitality just at airport twiddling thumbs felt neglected so took upon our selves to make our own way there as we were hungry and tired , the lady laura D on reception made everything worthwhile cant speak highly enough about her as we were bordering on depression thank you 🙏🏻
This was a okay average hotel breakfast was perfect if your coming for r and r it’s quite lively clientele ,, montse most mornings and she was very helpful and lovley
