Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Lovely complex, very clean and well maintained. Excellent amenities. Very friendly staff. Will definitely visit again
If I could use one word to summarise the stay it would be disappointing.
This is a very large resort with very few pools to cater for the volume of rooms/guests it has and certainly not enough sunbeds.
On arrival, the spare bed wasn't even made even though we had 4 on the booking. When you're arriving late at night, the mast thing you want to have to do is make a bed.
It's not a suitcase friendly resort as its all built in hills with lots of steps, no ramps, which made it very difficult trying to get up to your room on day 1.
Rooms were OK, but very dated, and you dont get them cleaned unless you're staying a minimum of 4 nights so beware.
Also shops in the hotel are very expensive so if you have a car, go to the local lidl or mercadona.
Also parking is very limited so unless you're prepared to park miles away, get back early.
Overall stay wasn't great and certainly wouldn't stay here again or recommend to others.
This was a really good experience, I really liked the resort apartments etc… I would also like to mention that the kids club is amazing Silvia and Alicia were really nice and awesome
Having been here for 3 weeks I felt it was only right to leave an accurate review of the complex after reading other reviews.
It’s a beautiful, clean, safe and friendly resort that’s perfect for people seeking a self catering trip with the luxury of being on a resort with amenities. Guest services at both Ramada and Wyndham are fantastic, friendly and cannot do enough for you. The kids club runs daily from 10:30-1 and again from 5:30-7:30 with a variety of activities and very friendly staff that get to know the children by name and are genuinely caring and nice people. My 5 and 7 year old went most days and made cakes, pottery, nerf guns, had a day at park etc, they’d thought of everything!
The pool areas are kept clean and tidy daily with most having lifeguard supervision. Some are busier than others however in the 3 weeks in the summer holidays as a family of 5 we have never not been able to get sunbeds (despite what other reviews say). We have visited a number of different pool areas and they cater for different needs which we loved, next to our apartment was a quiet chilled environment and by Zak’s bar was more lively and fun- both suited us for different days and times on our trip which was great.
Zak’s and Safari run a happy hour daily from 5-6 which id highly recommend. Again, noticing reviews negatively talking about the price, yes it’s more than what you’d pay outside of the resort but what do you expect? The same with Sam’s pantry- it’s slightly more but they have everything you need on your doorstep including lovely bread, cakes, pastries etc!
We also ate one night in the Italian restaurant where the staff were incredible and so friendly with the children. Food was lovely and it was a great atmosphere.
The resort is large and hilly so if you have mobility issues it wouldn’t be right however we walked with our 3 children most days across the resort and were fine. Again the negative reviews about the size and the hills- think about this before you book… It does specify this on every website so it’s not justified to complain upon arrival. For us we enjoyed having the use of multiple facilities across the resort and spending time in different areas.
Finally the accommodation for us was fantastic. We stayed in a superior plus 2 bed apartment and it was modern, spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Yes some accommodation was more dated but as with anything you get what you pay for! Book a superior and you won’t be disappointed. And finally the comments regarding ants and cockroaches - we kept our accommodation clean as we would our house at home and I can imagine if we left food out there would have been a potential for us this, however we did not have any issues with this whatsoever and if we had it I am sure guest services would have sorted it straight away.
All in all we have had a fantastic stay at a wonderful resort. I truly believe the negative opinions are travellers not understanding what they are booking up front and booking cheaper accommodation with the hope they’ll have updated apartments. For us we will be returning next year and have truly loved our stay.
Do not be lured in by all the wonderful photographs of the ‘multiple’ pools advertised online. This is completely false advertising. You are allocated a pool on arrival and you are ONLY allowed to use that pool.
Your key will not work on the gate to any of the others and if you do get in, once you give your room number you are asked to leave immediately by the staff and sent back to your own pool.
We booked a superior two bedroomed sea view apartment as it was the best possible option for our family of 2 adults and 3 children.
We were assigned the Pueblo Marina swimming pool. It was honestly awful. It had murky water, dirty floor, rubbish and cigarette ends strewn everywhere and not close to any amenities to get a drink or snack for the kids (see photos).
After complaining we were told we could use the pool at Zac’s bar. This pool was the size of a postage stamp, massively overcrowded and had broken steps which was not suitable for my autistic daughter.
We were informed by reception there was nothing more that they could do as they can’t control what photographs travel agents use on their websites. We even offered to pay extra to change rooms so we could get access to a clean and safe pool for the children to use but again we were told that the whole resort was full.
As a last resort they advised us to try and ‘sneak’ in to one of the pools attached to the private villas on the complex as they were unmanned and we were less likely to be questioned. Not exactly what you want to be doing during your holiday that you paid thousands of pounds for!
Although our room was modern and newly decorated we had ONE towel change in 10 days for 5 people and ONE clean. The bedding wasn’t changed but merely left on the end of the bed for us to change ourselves.
The crockery in the cupboards was dirty, the bedding had stains all over it. The air conditioning unit outside our room was broken and was dripping all over the floor making the floor slippery and dangerous.
We didn’t sleep once in the 10 days we were there as the walls are paper thin and as the hotel is located on a really busy dual carriageway the traffic was really noisy.
We were constantly being woken up in the middle of the night by other guests coming and going as reception allowed them to use our parking space next to our door as we didn’t have a car. We had people ringing the doorbell in the early hours and packing and unpacking their cars at 2.30am right outside the children’s bedroom window.
This is not a hotel. It feels more like a glorified campsite. There were people pulling off the dual carriageway and relieving themselves in the bushes at the bottom of our road.
After losing days of our holiday trying to sort this mess out we contacted our travel agency and desperately started to look back through our emails to see where in the small print it had said you were confined to one pool in one part of the complex and how we could have missed this. We of course couldn’t find anything but what we did find was an email from Ramada Hotel and Suites sent to us a week prior to arrival offering us to enhance our stay by booking a VIP family pool package for 50 - 100 euros a day where you could use the amenities at the Safari Restaurant and pool area at the Wyndham Grand which is about a 20 minute walk away over the other side of the resort.
For this price you could get a Balinese bed for 4 people, water, fruit platter and waiter service. We booked it and it was honestly an amazing experience. The staff were so wonderful, a complete contrast. Nothing was too much trouble. The area is so beautiful and finally the kids had clean and safe water to play in (see photos).
We were extremely lucky that the bed was available to book for the remainder of our stay though a huge added expense to an already expensive holiday.
We also ate most nights at the Grand Italia restaurant which was at the Wyndham Grand complex. Again the staff were amazing and very accommodating for our autistic daughter who needed a quiet space to eat and the food was always delicious.
We honestly felt that this holiday was one huge miss sell. You cannot advertise amenities that you simply do not have access to.
