Will be as honest as I can be here.

Positives: Apartments were a good size and well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, iron/ironing board.

That’s it.

Negatives: Shower - I don’t know if we were just unlucky but our shower ran from SCOLDING hot to freezing cold. This was particularly challenging with a 3 year old who then became terrified of using the shower. I don’t blame her. It was verging on being unusable and it was dangerous.

The balcony is unusable - table too big for it and the air con unit (which is huge) blasts out hot air making it very unpleasant to sit out.

The cleaning was terrible most times. Over our 11 night stay I think our floors were brushed once. No brush in room to do so yourself either. No basic dusting/wiping of surfaces done either.

The pool area was basic and at times I found it quite grubby. It didn’t get cleaned on a Sunday - ridiculous given the amount of people using the area. The beds were very tired too.

We were able to get beds every morning.

Pool bar is tiny - not really “holiday vibes” - €4 for an ice cream is shockingly expensive too.

The restaurant/bar joined in to the hotel is okay. Food is good but staff seem a bit disorganised - they were very pleasant but always getting orders mixed up/forgetting what you had ordered etc.

The area was not for us - this is personal preference but if you want close to the beach - this place is not for you. The walk back to the apartments is on a huge incline - this was difficult in the scorching heat with a buggy. Although people state it’s only a ten minute walk to the beach - it isn’t a pleasant one. Given we are so back from beachfront the temperature feels a lot hotter and less comfortable than the promenade temperature so beware of this if you are used to staying beachfront in Fuengirola.

The beds in the apartment are cheap - foam mattress in wooden slats. The slats on our beds kept sliding out of place and were near impossible to fit back into place.

We won’t be staying here again.

The apartment was clean and of a decent size. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 teens…2 in the bedroom and 2 in the sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is a good size and is reasonably well equipped. Really liked having a washing machine as meant we could keep beach towels etc fresh. There was a dishwasher but we didn’t use it as there were only 4 place settings-worth of crockery and utensils so we found it easier just to hand wash everything. The air con was very effective. The rooms are serviced every second day with fresh towels being provided. Bed sheets were changed halfway through the week. Staff were all pleasant. There can be some noise from other apartments when chairs are moved. We didn’t hear many other guests but there can be some noise from chairs scraping in apartments above and doors slamming in corridors. There are also quite a few barking dogs at times in the neighbouring streets. On the whole the apartments were quiet with respectful guests. Ideal for families or people looking for a quiet break away. Pool area is lovely. We used the pool bar one lunchtime and the food was nice. The hotel needs to buy probably another 10-20 sunbeds as there was a shortage quite a few days which led to people then booking them with towels early morning. There is a lifeguard on part of the day. There is a fairly steady incline up to the hotel so be aware of this if you have mobility issues. The beach area is lovely and we went there a few days instead of the pool. €16 for 2 sunbeds and a parasol, makes it fairly expensive if it’s a family of 4 going to the beach each day. The hotel is very handy to Mercadona supermarket, we liked to get fresh pastries from there each morning. We got the train to and from Malaga airport (all very easy) and during our week we went to Torremolinos and Benalmádena by train in the evenings. One evening we got an Uber to Miracor shopping centre. I would recommend Mediterráneo Real Aparthotel and would stay there again if back in the area.
