This superb beach hotel enjoys a frontline setting in the bustling resort town of Fuengirola. The hotel is perfectly situated just beside the beautiful sandy beach and is within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues the town has to offer. Malaga airport is conveniently set just 20 km away from the hotel. Business and leisure guests will be able to take advantage of the venues to host meetings and other private events. For a sunny day, the outdoor pool area has sunbeds, parasols and an incredible pool to dip in. All visitors will be impressed by the culinary delights the restaurant has to offer. The rooms are beautifully appointed and well equipped with all the needed amenities to have the best experience.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, including a sauna, a fitness centre and a seasonal outdoor pool. Additional features at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and wedding services.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Absolutely lovely. Simone was an amazing receptionist and did everything to help. Poolside rooms lovely, breakfast great selection and we tried evening meal once which was also good. Pool scene wonderful, temperature lovely and lots of beds. Bars great, generally very clean all around and staff nice and polite.
However, beach very stony and sea not that clear or clean. Lots of people on the beach too.
Love the hotel though.
Over the years I have been a regular guest at this hotel, and it is probably the best hotel in Fuengirola. The pool is excellent, the food and beverage service is fantastic, and the beachfront location is hard to beat. The rooms are always clean, spacious, and comfortable.
However, the customer service has been a bit hit-and-miss over the years. Despite visiting regularly, I had never been offered an upgrade or even a complimentary drink as a gesture of appreciation for being loyal guests.
That changed when we checked in with Alice. She was welcoming, professional, and made us feel genuinely valued as returning guests. Alice has restored my faith in the hotel, and thanks to her, we will definitely be returning.
Thank you, Alice, for making such a positive difference to our stay.
5* for cleanliness/cook staff. The reception staff/policies need work. Check in at 2pm but at 2pm then said it’s 2-4pm so they lied. After asking 3x they eventually called the cleaning staff & we got in around 3:15pm. The extractor fan didn’t work in the bathroom and we had no table/ chairs for our garden room. We asked 3 staff members to eventually get a table the next day.
Also garden room is fence view although having your own sun beds is nice and round the corner from the bar.
Breakfast is 10/10 and dinner is hit and miss. Some days it was mostly fish and hardly any meat dishes and I hate seafood so not great but desserts are nice and always fruit available. I will say the line for omelettes is stupid as people line up along where the food is so it’s awkward to get to so staff should manage it better. The beach bar is priced fairly for drinks but beach bar and snack bar is a rip off for food.
Entertainment was ok, Dance acts were poor the singing acts were decent but started at 10pm which is late and lasts 40mins-1hr. There’s no self entertainment area like darts or a pool table either and during the day the entertainment is basic like aqua aerobics and it’s all in Spanish.
Spa was shut the whole of this month for maintenance but I didn’t see a single maintenance person In there till our last day. This was not advertised so very shameful.
Pool area is nice staff did said no reserving beds but people were after breakfast so they lied. Lifeguard is suppose to remove towels but didn’t even when asked as it sates its policy. The lifeguard pretended not to know English and started speaking in Spanish when we questioned all the empty beds with towels. 1 out of 2 pool showers worked as well so not great as you’ll read further down we had no courtesy room.
Location is out of the way 10-15 min walk to any shops/cafe/bars & 30mins to a main town. Ubers are expensive there is a bus but not many stops so it’s awkward.
Our return flight was late so we asked for a courtesy room or late check out and they couldn’t facilitate ? Even though check in is 2-4pm so the fact we couldn’t have a later check out is odd. All the rooms in this hotel and not 1 room for us to pay for like 10mins just to use the showers is again bull****. Also throughout our day our room was always cleaned around 9:45am ish and when we left it was cleaned at 1:30pm ish so the fact we had to wait till after 3pm to check in is bull****.
Overall if you want a more affordable hotel as Malaga is an expensive area, close to the beach and a nice pool area with good food this is a nice place. However for what you pay entertainment is poor the facilities are poor as we couldn’t use the spa and they don’t offer courtesy rooms or late check out despite advertising late checkouts. Also if you’re not bothered about entertainment and happy to trek to bars/restaurants every night this also would suit you. Torromolinos is 1000x better than Fuengirola or I’d get a hotel closer to the centre as in 35 degree heat it’s too hot to walk for 20+ mins. The main strip is also more cafe and supermarket based so not great and lively. Also I’d call to check if the spa is open as it wasn’t so clearly not a 4* currently for over £700pp.
This was our 2nd visit to The IPV hotel . Spotlessly clean. Bedroom spacious plenty of wardrobe space. Small fridge. Can hear the sea from balcony. Lovely. Restaurant food is poor in the evening. Plates not cleared away when finished eating. Also no bar service visible. So no drink offered when dining!! Breakfast however is very good. Plenty of choice. There was a medical emergency that we witnessed at the pool. If it wasn’t for the quick response of hotel guests spotting the man unresponsive in pool & then doing cpr on him I fear it would have been fatal. Hotel staff seemed unsure what to do. Pool/towel attendant looked completely clueless!! It was appalling!! & IPV needs to seriously look at their first aid response. As there are many other hotels in this area I think this will be our last stay at The IPV.
We have stayed at this hotel several times previously, the breakfast, rooms, hotel location and facilities are all very good.
However during our stay there was a major incident in the pool where without the quick thinking of guests could have been a fatality. The guests dived into the pool and rescued a gentleman, the guests performed CPR, the lifeguard was slow to respond, leaving two guests giving CPR, I asked bar staff to call emergency services, there was no defibrillator near the pool, I asked staff to get this, myself and another guest opened and directed the emergency services, by the time they arrived the management and other staff had arrived.
Fortunately for the fast action of guests a fatality was avoided.
Unfortunately the management and staff were slow to react, we tried to speak with management to explain our concerns but they were uninterested. At no time did any of the management team speak to guests around the pool who had witnessed the incident or those who were in shock having been involved in CPR.
If you do stay at this hotel ensure you supervise your children and stay within your depth is a weak or non swimmer at all times in the pool area, as unfortunately the staff had not learnt from the incident as the following day the lifeguard and staff that cover the lifeguards breaks were eating and watching something on their phone behind the desk, the lifeguards are also expected to police the subbed and hand out towels whilst watching the pool.
The emergency procedures need to be addressed and staff trained. I speak as an experienced swimming teacher, lifeguard and first aider.
