- Fuengirola Beach

This apartment complex is located next to a shopping centre and Sohail castle, just 1.5 kilometres away from Fuengirola and only 350 metres from the nearest beach. The airport is about 15-minute drive away. At a walking distance, guests will find a big variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and entertainment venues. The wonderful outdoor pool area is perfect for the ones wanting to work on their tan, relax on a sunbed or have a refreshing swim. The restaurant offers delicious food and the bar tasty drinks along with an agreeable atmosphere. The rooms are equipped with cosy beds and all the essential amenities needed for a great experience. They have been nicely decorated with a combination of light and warm colours to make travellers feel welcomed.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The children were not allowed any balls or floats in the pool. The rooms do not have any oven or grill. There is very little cutlery or utensils and they are very small.
The entertainment is very little and they do not encourage others to join in. They just assume children’s ages.
Where fuengirola is not for us as there is not much to do and we did not rate the beaches, the hotel it's self is a gem... I have read the negative reports and can say our stay was brilliant, we had 14 nights and everything was amazing... the only one small issues I could raise were the beds were slightly uncomfortable. However this is by no means a big thing. Things for the kids and family were amazing, the pool entertainer were really engaging, hotel very clean . If your wanting a family pool side holi6i would 100% recommend. A 2 minute walk to all shops even primark and a 10 minute walk to beach restaurants and some lovely drinking places.
Fuengirola beach is a great hotel for families, the staff are all so nice and make it fun for the kids. Great pool. The staff in the pool bar and restaurant are second to none (Pilar so lovely)they seem to work long hours and always serve with a smile on their faces. Food very good at hotel and big portions for decent prices. Beach across the road and short walk under bridge - ideal. Rooms kept clean and hotel spotless. Mijas water park 20 minute walk as is BioParc. Mijas Peublo (must see) village in the mountain - 20 euro in a taxi. Massive shopping centre on your doorstep- designer shops to primark and food store with fresh breads, fruits, meats etc - Would def return
This review is solely about pool queuing. This is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, but something bizarre happens in July and August.
We have never stayed at a hotel before where people think it is acceptable to leave their bags unattended to hold their place in the queue.
The pool opens at 10am. The pool is behind a locked gate.
In May and June when we have visited the hotel, people queue, in person, for the pool to be opened. In July and August, this is not the case!
There are signs telling guests that that they must not leave their bags to hold their place in the queue.
People begin leaving their bags outside the locked pool gate at around 11pm when they have finished their evening!
So, if you want to queue, in person from around 9.30am, you will be met with 30 - 40 bags all lined up in a row with no one stood beside them. The people who leave these bags expect you to queue behind them in person!
I have seen many people decide that they won't stand in an invisible line to queue for the pool gate to open so start a 'human' queue. This meant that those who began the 'bag queue' the night before at 11pm were disappointed each morning to find that they weren't first in line.
Staff have been advised that guests queue with unattended bags and it is met with a shrug. So the sign on the pool gate advising against bag leaving may as well be removed. It is completely pointless.
As if people are going to queue in person behind a row of unattended bags on the floor 🤣
Have been coming here on and off for some years now. This is our first year coming during peak season in end of July and it is surprising how easy it is to get a sunbed and how well behaved people are, you can tell most are British families. The new place your bag lined up to queue for the pool sunbeds is a great idea and surprisingly it works. People respect the line of bags.
The apartment itself could do with a refurbishment but it is perfect with everything you need. Plates, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, cloths etc etc, everything you would need for your stay. Rooms are cleaned every 2 days, with change of towels, sheets etc. The air con works very well, actually quite cold at night.
The pool is great, packed with sunbeds and sun umbrellas There is a pool side bar and restaurant for lunch.
The best thing for us is the proximity to the shopping centre(3 mins walk) and how close (10 mins walk) to the beach front restaurants. Some are lovely. We have lunch in room everyday, sometimes burgers other times kfc etc.Dinner out every night paying under 70 euros most nights for 4 of us, and eating quality food.
There is a helpful group on Facebook That has info and advice about this hotel Fuengirola Beach Apartments Info/advice which you can join to get restaurant advice.
We will return that's 100% certain
