Third visit to the Iconic Angela Hotel which we love due to its superb beachfront location at Los Boliches. Check in was very busy and we left our cases as requested to return at 2 pm to gain access to our room. When we returned we discovered we had been given a room with a double bed so had to return to reception again. Slightly disappointed to be told quite rudely that we would have to return tomorrow to see if a twin room was available as the hotel was 'busy'. My 76 year old Mum explained this was not acceptable and we stood in reception until another room was found for us as we had booked a twin room. Not a fantastic start really and certainly not the customer service the Angela has been so well known for. Noticed very subtle changes during this stay, no happy hour in the bar on an evening and this seems a shame as a lot of people were going out into town instead of using the lounge. The food on the whole was good but we had three days where it was a bit poor. The salad bar selection was not as extensive this time and seems to involve lots of things on individual spoons and bowls of individual sliced things? a bowl of sweetcorn, a bowl of sliced cucumber etc etc. Lots of older folk looking a bit bemused to see Burgers as a main meal choice and lots of chat around the pool area regarding the food. Not happy about your food? speak to your Rep .. be proactive. Witnessed some very rude behaviour towards the dining room staff who work incredibly hard which was disappointing to see. Its a very busy dining room and patience costs nothing. The Angela was definitely busier this time and we did wonder whether this was due to the rebranding of the Yaramar as a Tui Blu hotel. This is a lovely hotel and one I've come to think of as a second home so please don't lose the charm we have all come to love you for Angela.

Booked this hotel for just a 2 night stay, to celebrate our 41st anniversary, and had a junior suite, with access to premium facilities. At nearly 450 euros for 2 nights was quite disappointing. No one at the premium desk for priority checking in, so queue up with everyone else, not what we paid for. The room itself was nice, but no hair dryer in the room, took 3 visits to reception, and empty promises made by the young female receptionist just left us feeling let down, eventually house keeping brought one up, but this was 21 hours later, not acceptable when paying premium rate. The food in the premium lounge was practically non existent, besides coffee and fruit. On the second day, our room was not cleaned until nearly 3 pm, again not acceptable when paying premium rate. Whilst the hotel can’t control the weather, second day when it rained, all rooftop pool and bar closed. Not sure why, as people were still using the main pool, so health and safety is not a reason. Breakfast felt like being in a canteen in a glorified nursing home, not a great experience. Glad we never went half board. Briefly saw one singer entertaining on our first night, but wasn’t great. Overall at the cost paid, didn’t enjoy this mini break, and wasn’t what we expected for the money, so wouldn’t recommend.

Having been to the Angela i know what to expect, location excellent, staff lovely, rooms a bit basic but no issues plenty of hanging space, very clean, lovely balconies, we had one overlooking the sea and pool. Breakfast excellent evening meal ok limited choices to make up meals. The extra 20 euros to use the roof top isn't worth it, have a lovely view from the normal pool. Howver roof top bar is very pleasant to have a evening drink. I would like to say a special thank you to the reception staff for making my mam and dad 60th weddings anniversary very special.
