Gorgeous hotel. We stayed for 6 days. The adult only pool was great, the view from the room beautiful. Breakfast was a little repetitive but always fresh and tasty.
Perfect hotel. Lovely pool area , rooms beautiful. Staff so friendly. I can't fault it and have booked for next year 😊
I visited this spa on Saturday as part of a €150 gift experience. The spa circuit itself was excellent, but unfortunately the 90-minute treatment fell well below the standard I would expect at this price point.
The therapist left the room approximately six times throughout the treatment, which made the experience feel disjointed and poorly organised. During the facial algae mask, I was left alone for more than 5 minutes and became cold enough that I had to get my gown and use it for warmth. At no point was I asked whether the room temperature was comfortable.
The facial was particularly disappointing. The exfoliation was applied only to the forehead, chin and cheekbones, while the rest of the cheeks, nose, neck and décolleté were left completely unexfoliated. The mask application was also uneven, leaving some areas uncovered. When the mask was removed, remaining pieces were picked off the skin with the therapist's nails, and I was left with visible cream and product residue at the end of the treatment. The facial and foot massage pressure were both extremely light, and despite asking for more pressure during the foot massage, there was very little noticeable adjustment and no follow up to check if the pressure was ok.
Before leaving, I shared my feedback with a senior therapist and a receptionist, who both thanked me for it and told me that the manager would be in touch. It has been 5 days, and I have received no follow-up whatsoever. Overall, it has been a frustratingly underwhelming experience.
The facilities are beautiful and the spa circuit was genuinely enjoyable, although the hammam could benefit from a deep clean. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the treatment experience would be greatly improved with more attention to client comfort, communication and detail.
A very tired and dilapidated hotel in serious need of a major make over. Peeling wallpaper, broken floor tiles, plastic showers cubicles with broken furniture. Says it’s a 5 star hotel. 3 at best. Staff were cold and rather unwelcoming and food hall more like a school canteen. Noisy, chaotic and food of sometimes dubious quality. If you are a golfer and just want a simple room to sleep, plenty of ok food and beer and be near to some excellent golf courses this could be for you. If you are a couple looking for a relaxing quiet break then this, in my opinion, is not for you. Long walk in to Estapona on a dangerous footpath is not relaxing. Taxis required pretty much everywhere. Would we return? No.
Stayed at this hotel for one week with high hopes for a quiet end of season break in a 5* hotel. We booked a junior suite to give us a bit of extra space and a nice balcony/sea view - we were realistic and not expecting Dubai 5* standards. Unfortunately, we had an underwhelming experience all round. Nothing particularly bad, but mostly all very average except from a few members of staff who seemed to enjoy their work and wanted to provide guests with a helpful and friendly experience (Danny G and Toni in the bar areas and both of the fresh-cook chefs at breakfast and dinner). Food for the buffet breakfasts and dinners was generally fresh and nicely presented, but across the week did not vary much. We tried one of the bookable restaurants and the menu options and quality of food and service much better. Location - nice position by the coast/beach but its not in or near Estepona. We had not been to this area before and would have expected to be able to walk into town from the hotel. Its about 20 mins to walk to Estepona Marina where there are some nice bars and restaurants. Then a further 20 mins to walk on to Estepona Town. A taxi is about E10/E12 each way. There are golf clubs permanently on display at the hotel entrance and we soon discovered that quite a few golf groups (mostly men) use the hotel for golf breaks. Nothing wrong with that at all, but 8 - 12 blokes descending on the pool in the afternoon or in the buffet and bar in the evening does change things for other guests. Some of the smaller golf groups of 4-6 blended in fine. Overall, the hotel is generally quite dated and in need of a makeover and upgrading. However, for its rate/prices and for specific guest groups, think 4* and you might be able to see though its shortcomings. Unfortunately, not for us and not a hotel we will return to.
