This stunning hotel is located is on Atalaya Isdabes beach front and in the heart of the Costa del Sol just 5 km from Puerto Banus and 13 km from Maebella and Estepona. There is are numerous restaurants, bars, and shops available and public transportation. This establishment spans across 40,000 square grounds that are filled with ponds, fountains, gardens and extensive green woodlands. A water park called the Splash World is fully integrated into the hotel complex and includes a kamikaze slide that will launch you into the 12 feet pool, a capsule slide, a large wave pool and others tornado slides with rafts and aqua-racers. All relaxed rooms are air-conditioned and have balconies, flat screen TV with cable channels, a safety deposit box, telephone, free Internet Wi-Fi Access, a mini-bar, security doors and full bathroom with hairdryer. Other hotel amenities are a beach club restaurant with a large terrace and an entertainment stage. The hotel features outdoor swimming pools, children's playground, sport facilities and free self-parking is also available.
Just got home after a week here. The hotel itself is great and would return self catering purely based on what's there for kids. The food however, I have to say, is the worst food I've ever had at an all inclusive and we're not picky eaters by any means (we eat anything 😂). Myself and my partner had sickness and diarrhoea the second day we were there, we can't 'prove' it was the food, but it 100% was, complained to Tui and was told it was just "holiday tummy"... we went to Spain in May and didn't get a funny tummy then. My 3 year old thankfully didn't get ill but he also hadn't been eating much at all. Couldn't wait to get home to have some normal food! We ate out twice and the rest of the time we booked the Beach restaurant, even in there the food wasn't great. Everything was bland, cold, tasteless and some of it looked very questionable. I do wonder how they cook the food, chill the cold meats and serve their food in general regarding cross contamination, especially in the main restaurant. Something isn't quite right! I don't know about food standards in Spain but I feel like the hotel needs to be looked into. A real shame because for us, good food is a big part of our holiday! FYI the Indian and Chinese over the blue bridge is fantastic if you cannot stomach the food here any more!
Just home from our 7 night stay here and we had a really good time. We got a good deal as we booked very last minute so it was def worth the money,we looked at booking up again for next year but the price was far too high, as much as we enjoyed our stay we wouldn't pay almost 3000 to stay again.
PROS - Obviously the pools and water park are a huge part of this hotel and so much fun. The main pool is very lively but there are other more relaxed pools and areas you can go to for a more chilled day. Our favourite place was the beds on top of the beach snack bar, the area can do with a bit of tlc, floor boards are uneven and a few beds are ripped and stained but it is a beautiful area for sunbathing and looking out to the sea. The food was decent enough for us, we aren't picky eaters so always found something nice,my husband is vegetarian and he always managed fo fill his plate. The all inclusive cocktails were nice and had a good amount of alcohol in them. There was 4 different wines on tap but only 1 beer which was sanmiguel. Rooms were large enough and comfortable,we had a room looking onto the large slides and it was peaceful at night.
CONS - There were alot of ants in certain areas of the restaurant, my son poured juice and ants were floating in his cup, we also found ants in the area just outside our bedroom but only on the last night so wasn't a huge deal. Sometimes the pool area can be a big messy,mostly from people just leaving their rubbish lying around,the staff do try hard to keep it clean.
The hotel is quite secluded but we got an uber in the the animal park one day and also visited marbella, there is also an aldi near by and a few other shops up the road. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would return if we can manage to get a good deal like last time.
Reading the 1 star reviews we were a bit apprehensive but it's likely they've been left by people with unrealistic expectations. It is exactly what you expect from an all inclusive hotel; clean, comfortable, good service and safe for kids.
Good bits: Plenty of nationalities staying, meaning food is varied and also plentiful. Between the hours of 7am and 10pm there is only a 30 min gap where all inclusive food isn't available. Drinks are available all throughout the day.
There was loads of maintenance going on and it is noticeable, the grounds are kept clean and tidy.
Staff are very helpful and hard working, not overly friendly but they are constantly working to keep the place clean and food topped up. Girls on the main bar are lovely.
The flumes are great fun and life guards are always on hand to keep everyone safe.
The air conditioning in the rooms is good.
Loads of places for sun loungers.
Bad(ish) bits: It seems the coffee machines don't all operate, they are on the slower side and no kettles in the room but not a long wait for hot drinks and there are machines dotted about the resort and available in the main bar.
Sea front isn't too inviting.
Main pool can be loud but another 2 much more peaceful pools nearby.
Overall: Don't understand any reviews 3 stars and under - it's an all inclusive hotel in Spain. Good value for money and plenty of ice cream, food and alcohol included that you really don't need to buy anything out side of the package.
The staff welcomed us to the hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel was good. The rooms were clean. The facilities around the hotel were good. The animation team were brilliant at doing there shows and the entertainment was good. The food was good as it catered for everyone as they had a variation.
A great resort for families and couples ...just do your homework before you come regarding the area and the hotel itself, then you won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed a very chilled week here, booked with TUI with the slight upgrade to a Suite. Allocated room 505 in the Formentera Block. Excellent value for the price we paid. Wonderful sea and mountain views, overlooking the water park but the noise of the flumes wasn't disruptive. ( only active 10am to 6pm ) I'm not sure if I'd describe it as a suite, a large enough room, comfortable bed, spot on bathroom with walk in shower. Good storage and an extra bed to dump stuff tucked in the corner. A perfect base to relax in.
The last review from Blackie captures most of what we experienced during our stay. We booked and ate in the Beach Bar every evening, bar one, much quieter and an excellent themed menu every night. Just remember to book the day before. We never ventured up to the main restaurant for breakfast, preferred a slow wake up and brunch in the Beach Bar ... just added a jar of Aldi jam ( just up the road ) and it met our needs. Both dinner and brunch by the sea were wonderful. We ate lunch in the main restaurant, never disappointed with the food but busy. We never had any issues with the quality of the food on offer, it's a very Spanish / European hotel so don't come if you expect English dishes. There's a constant supply of burgers, hot dogs and chips if that's your preference.
The Formentera block is right by the beach bar, perfect location as the complex is huge and it's a good walk from reception.
The Splash Pool and flumes are amazing, clean and well supervised. Perfect for all ages – the wave pool wasn't working while we were there. If you have kids and want a one centre, hardly leaving the complex holiday don't think it can be beaten. Our kids would have loved it, never a shortage of sun beds in September. The beach is as described by others, good sand for kids, rocky to get in the water, but great to walk along and watch the sunset.
Not much more to add...other positive reviews capture the complex, we'd certainly come back again knowing what to expect. Take some of the negative reviews with a pinch of salt...we all have different needs and expectations.
Comments for the hotel: Almost annoying enough to lose a review point, but the overall holiday was a 5 so we'll reflect that. Sort the lifts out in the Formentera block, only one of the two worked for 3 days..no out of order signs up! The one that worked set the alarm off and dropped if there were more than 3 people in ( said 6 was ok ) ...not good. You need instructions for the aircon in the room... and contact numbers for reception. No use having a phone without a number for reception !( 9 ) Sort the room cards out...ours failed twice..once only one card, the last night both. It's a long walk back to reception from the sea! We'd kept them separate away from mobiles as instructed. Just niggles now we're home...keep up the good work!
