Hotel Palmasol

The hotel was a great accommodation, the beds were very soft and the quilts were also. It was probably the best bed i have slept in compared to before in spain. The room has a small TV with a limited selection of channels (english channels available like BBC).

The bathroom in the room was alright with basic shower and bath facilities which come with soaps.

The room was kept at a reasonable temperature with the fantastic air-con which is not a shared system so it is much better.

The food in the evening was exceptional for buffet food. Typically, buffet food is quite poor, however this was high quality food and the desserts were very tasty.

The hotel is VERY VERY close to being a 4 star hence the 3.5 star i have given it. The only things preventing it from being 4 star quality are:

-The pool: is kept quite dirty with leaves and plastic cups inside, the staff don't clean this during swimming.

-The towels hanging: Typically in 4 star accommodation, hanging towels and other items on the balcony rails is forbidden as it is seen as untidy.

-The entertainment: Its Ok but very loud at night, it does stop at around 11

-The spa facility: Unfortunately the indoor pool and sauna were both closed when we went. I later found out that the spa is closed during high season. Why???

and finally,

-The wristband system: Instead of a traditional keycard or key you are made to wear bright coloured wristbands which give you access to your room, restaurant and to pay for drinks at the bar. Yes, the entire hotel is cashless, which is annoying, you are required to load the cash onto the wristband to pay. Its very inconvenient but you can pay with card. Personally, i hate wearing wristbands and this shouldn’t be in a 4 star hotel. We did take them off in the end and kept them in our pocket or phone cases.

Overall, the hotel is pleasant and i would stay again, it’s extremely close to a 4 star but it just needs some little things improved.

Very close to 5 stars to be fair. The room was very good. Clean and tidy. Good Shower. Great balcony view of the pool. Little fridge to keep water cool. Excellent air conditioning in the room. Went half board. Breakfast was excellent. Continental, English, toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, fresh orange, drinks. Great choice. Dinners were very good. Great choice and a mixture of meats, fish, pizzas, soups, deserts. The staff were outstanding. Reception, cleaners, dinner staff, pool staff, work incredibly hard all day through. The hotel is located perfectly near the marina, promenade and beach. At the pool people were queueing for sunbeds at 9am. Very odd as there's enough beds! (Very British. We queue when there's no need?!) We spent a lot of money to go as a family and I suppose the best way to judge is how sad we were to leave. And we were. Why only 4 stars? Maybe the building works nearby are not the best, but to be fair didnt effect our stay. But it would be wrong to end this review on a bad note. So Thank you to all those at the hotel who made our stay such a relaxing and memorable stay. Great hotel, Great staff.

Great location, we went half board and food was brilliant especially the desserts! Staff friendly, housekeeping a little slow and sloppy not the best, hotel public areas clean, pool area needed more attention for cleaning as there was grass, bits of tree’s and plastic cups in the pool. Air con in rooms was noisy but great, rooms are a bit small nowhere to get ready like a dressing table area and no space in bathroom for straighteners etc. Would say this is not 4 star more like 3.5 as some areas need improving but overall happy with hotel and would stay again.
