Currently staying at Hotel Palmasol (room 351). The location of the hotel is great, very near the marina, especially if you go out of the back gate through the garden. There is a supermarket across the road at the marina and another one at the top of the road in the opposite direction, near the bus stops on the main road. Our room is a good size, with enough storage and the balcony is overlooking the garden and a partial sea view. The staff that we have encountered have all been friendly and polite, especially the lady who cleans our room. The breakfast is great, with plenty of choice and something to suit everyone's taste, we have only had breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment on other meals. The hotel was recommended to us by my brother-in-law, who has stayed here several times and we are very pleased that he suggested the hotel and would happily stay again. There are tea/coffee making facilities and small fridge in the room and the included aircon has been an absolute godsend in the hot weather.
Great location near to marina and beaches. Main areas clean and comfortable, but bedroom and bathroom very small. We got our first room swapped ,as it faced the building site... ...drills and hammers at 7.30am. Not great when full price paid. Breakfast very good, but, quality of meat at evening buffet really poor. Staff in dining room not the most pleasant. Really rude young waitress, with awful attitude to guests. Always long queues to get served at bar. Hotel felt a bit regimental. Pool area not the cleanest. Other holiday operators class this hotel as a 3.5 stars. That is optimistic, as it really should be a 3 star hotel. Could be a fab hotel if given some care and attention. Lovely area, but would not return to this hotel nor recommend.
Had an absolute amazing time. Conveniently located near the marina. Which made our stay lovely. The staff were polite and friendly. The hotel is very clean. Our room overlooked the pool area. People were very friendly. I was sometimes in a wheelchair and the staff were helpful. It’s a quiet hotel. I can not fault the place. It’s very comfortable. The food was great.
The hotel was in the ideal location close to the marina. Very lively area with lots of places to eat and drink. The room we were allocated had a great view of pool and marina in the distance and had all the amenities we needed -Kettle, mini fridge and safe. I felt it was good value for money. We stayed AI and upgraded to AI Plus at arrival for 12€ per day extra. Hotel was lovely and clean both in rooms and throughout communal areas. Cleaning staff were lovely and polite. We were advised before arriving that there was a hotel being constructed next door to the hotel with possible noise between 8am and 6pm but we never heard it at all during our stay - possibly because we had a garden/pool view. The friendliness and helpfulness from all staff was lovely. From the reception, cleaning staff, restaurant and bar staff, we were treated really well. The bar staff especially were good at remembering visitors and their bar orders. The entertainment was enjoyable and we stayed for a few but did tend to go out most evenings and then come back for a nightcap. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of coming to Benalmadena. Thank you to all staff at Hotel Palmasol for making our holiday so memorable.
Just back from a 7 day vacation at the Palmasol. The location is right by the main centre and marina, although there aren't really any true sea views, in the sense that the hotel is set back some 200m from the marina. Our room overlooked the pool and outside bar area located on the 5th floor. The rooms are a little on the small side with a balcony that didn't feel comfortable enough to relax on, with broken table and chair. The room was serviced daily to a good standard but the fittings in the room were dated and impractical. There was very little drawer space and bedside tables should gave had some storage. The bathroom towels were changed regularly. The bathroom had a shower cubicle which needed a lot of maintenance to bring to a standard. No safety rail or bath mat provided in the shower although it didnt give us a problem. Soap dispensers were the wrong type and it was impossible to use them correctly to dispense the soap liquid. The toilet roll holder was positioned wrongly. There was no adequate bathroom storage. Regarding the food, we found the breakfast items were excellent. Lots of choice and good quality ingredients. However the buffet dinner meals were poor. Lamb and beef were poorly cooked and dry and impossible to cut. The staff were excellent. Some of the best we've come across in Spanish hotels. But overall we enjoyed our stay. The hotel does need a room refurbishment and more attention given to some of the food items. Until that's done we wouldn't consider returning.
