Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This is a lovely hotel with amazing staff in restaurants,bars and cleaners but a few issues let it down.Beach bar was our favorite but closes at 7.00pm would have been nice to have an extra hour. Food was ok found lunchtimes in main restaurant better than the evening themed meals. Couple of other thing's let it down the main family pool was lovely but the bar had no sitting available so had to take drinks and the food back to sunbeds to eat which was a real let down and really does need shaded sitting . Also to access both pools you have to leave hotel walk along promenade to the gates to access and both don't open till 10.00 where I would prefer it to be earlier as im a morning person. Entertainment was very poor and did stay at watch any . Location is bit quite which was lovely for us but think anyone wanting more it's a taxi ride into main resort
We stayed at Hotel Benalma for four nights. Upon arrival at 10pm we were able to go straight to the Sea View Kitchen for food as we had been delayed on our flight. Our room was a de-luxe sea view room, amazing room, very large bed, room space, bathroom with a balcony. The air con stays on when you leave the room which was a bonus as it was very hot temperatures. Two bottles of water were provided with tea & coffee & kettle. The towels were changed every day & the sheets after 3 days. We stayed half board and used the Sea View Kitchen for meals. There was a great choice of food for breakfast and evening meal. Meal times were busy but always plenty of food. We didn't have any issues with drinks or service at meal times. The roof top bar is well worth a visit and Ellie Rae an acoustic singer was excellent. There is a supermarket not far from the hotel (walk ahead when leaving the hotel, to the roundabout & down the hill) for water & supplies (there is a fridge in the room). We visited a cafe/bar next to the supermarket Bar Juan Palermo, lovely food and large drinks! Well worth a visit. The pools have sun beds and we didn't have any problem getting one. The beach has sun beds, not owned by the hotel, at €16 for 2 beds & a parasol. Check out, the hotel has a secure room for storing cases/bags. The hotel is a fair way from Benalmadena centre but buses stop outside and it cost us €3.60 for 2 to Torremelinos so good value. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and all of the staff were friendly, helpful and polite.
Very nice hotel, great location, lovely staff and neat but small rooms. Nice Seaview although we were unlucky and got an end of block room making the view only partial. Biggest complaint is the coffee machine in the main restaurant, it is undrinkable due to them using coffee granules and powered milk. Neither the pool bar or the top floor bars have barista machines either.
Hotel was clean and interior was fine on a positive. Most entertainment was excellent. Pool was outside the hotel and open to the general public, very unhappy as only two sun-beds for my family of five. It was full and cramped. Often smelling of cannabis at pool area. We had two young children, not appropriate. Food often 70% Luke warm or cold, we ate out in the evening although we were all-inclusive. So spent a further £2 k on eating out, but the restaurants we went to were superb so that was a bonus. But a costly one. Room was not cleaned one day, I let reception know at 6.30pm, lady brought clean towels but said no room clean. The bar was on a higher floor with an outside terrace. The terrace also smelt of cannabis several times. Because semi enclosed it always stank of cigarettes too. I did complain about above and was offered a free night dining in a pay restaurant. We declined as the food would be from the same kitchen. Would never go to this hotel again. Never been to a hotel that had an outside gated pool which was all behind wire and open to the paying general public. Hotel reception staff were good but the problems were impossible to solve.
Lovely hotel and very quiet. Rooms were clean and the addition of a safe to use free was a bonus. We only had 2 complaints, firstly although there were tea making facilities in the rooms the milk was not replenished when used. Secondly the food was usually cold. Even being the some of the first in for evening meal the meal was cold. Cold chips, noodles and chicken were not nice. Beyond this, the food was plentiful and good variety. We didn't use the pool as there was never anywhere to sit. Its the first time I have been to a hotel when you have to walk out of the hotel to get to the pool!!!
