Medplaya Hotel Flamingo Oasis

Booked via tui app for very reasonable price and we weren’t disappointed. Lovely spacious hotel, immaculately clean inside. Fast check in considering 3 bus lots of people turned up at once. Lots of friendly staff that can’t do enough for you. Prosecco on arrival. Rooms modern and spotlessly cleaned with plenty of storage, refrigerator and tea and coffee amenities. Comfortable with good sized balconies. Fantastic views over the pool and skyline. We never waited long for food and there was always seats for food and to watch entertainment. The entertainment was great! Kids loved it and they had extras going on for the kids round the pool. The pool itself was clean and spacious and well laid out with a nice splash park and play park for the babies. It gets the sun all day. The place is beautifully decorated with jungle animals and plants which again children loved. The location is on the busier side of Benidorm near shops and a 15 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to the local market. Shops bars and restaurants all round. For children it’s just a 5/10 minute taxi ride to mundomar and the big aqua park. Taxis are really cheap if you book through the app. Considering it’s on the British strip it’s not overly crowded or noisy it’s just enough of its own space. We went all inclusive. Drinks were plentiful, snack bar had all the basic food options. My children loved the idea of crisps in a cone! There’s a pretty little shop on site selling items but we didn’t end up using it although nothing seemed overly priced. Slight negatives for us personally were: there are some really long waits for lifts. You can get around this by going for meal times right at the start of meal times or right at the end. Also sun loungers there was the usual mad rush and by 8am nearly all the central sun loungers are gone . You will get a sun lounger as there is plenty for everyone but if you have kids and need to be near the pool, you’re gonna have to be first in line early! Parasols. There was about 20 parasols for the whole pool area. In a hotel this size that’s obviously nowhere near enough. We felt a slightly bit let down by the food. We’ve stayed in all inclusive from 3-5 star and of all of them this was probably the least favoured. Breakfast was fine but lunch and dinner seemed slightly limited. There wasn’t a huge selection,though what was there was well cooked and tasty enough. The children’s section was also really limited and more or less the same every night. Around the pool got really messy in the day. There was one lady going around cleaning and people certainly didn’t make her job easy. By lunchtime the pool area had lots of discarded cups and food wrapper etc. in the morning after the night entertainment we watched a lone cleaner at 7am trying to pick up a million cups.this isn’t the hotels fault as people need to be responsible for their own mess but there did appear to be a general lack of waste bins in general around the outskirts of the pool area.another point to be aware of is if you have small children or mobility issues you will struggle with the pool toilets. They are down quite a steep slope. There is a handrail but by lunchtime the concrete was soaking from the pool and multiple people were slipping on it.Only for the reasons above have I made it four star instead of five.

Good hotel no complaints would return,

We were a little anxious after reading reviews but we thought this was a great hotel. Room was spacious, beds super comfy and massive bathroom. Reception staff friendly and helpful. We only had bed and breakfast but found the food plentiful and sufficient. Short walk to main strip. Hotel car park was a bit confusing but we found it in the end lol. Also on final morning we were handed a bag with snacks in for onward trip, nice touch.
