We stayed at this hotel 18-23 August 2026 booking with Jet2. I was wary about going given the fairly scathing reviews about a sickness/ diarrhoea bug however this wasn’t an issue thankfully.
The hotel is incredibly clean and tidy with cleaning staff being a constant presence.
This is a small hotel and staff were friendly and helpful, they clearly work very hard and for long hours.
The room has an open plan layout which isn’t ideal- the sink and shower are in the room itself with only the toilet being separate (and a glass door that provides zero privacy). Otherwise, the room is light and airy- the air con works really well and the beds are super comfy. Our room was on the first floor facing the town hall and incredibly quiet, we didn’t hear a sound!
Food was a let down but it very much catered to the typical audience (there wasn’t a lot of authentic local food and instead was more beige/ processed. Roast beef with Yorkshire puddings & sprouts felt a bit much for a hot August day! Having said that, there was always something but we certainly weren’t spoilt for choice.
Pool area and sun beds were nice, it’s a real sun trap! I have no idea why people feel the need to rush/ queue for beds and then leave towels for hours on end. It’s entirely unnecessary. We didn’t have an issue at all getting somewhere to sit out/ sunbathe regardless of the time of day.
Location is great for both the old and new town.
Here at the moment into the 5th day had sickness/diarrhoea for the last 2 that I have never experinced in my life don't know if other people who are here as I can,t leave the room (only eaten here.)
We have been to Benidorm many times, however we will not be returning to this hotel. First the positive points. Ideally situated for the beach and the Old Town. Close to the beach. Surprisingly quiet considering that our room was on the first floor over the bar area. Room was kept clean and fresh towels daily. Staff are friendly. Unfortunately... The food is predominantly English, cottage pie, beef and Yorkshire pudding, apple crumble and custard, very little Spanish options and limited choices for those with alternative dietary requirements. The hotel looks tired, requires a deep clean in some areas, particularly the pool and sun loungers which we were not prepared to use due the level of dirt and stains. Should you wish to use the pool regardless, be prepared to que from eight am, the same crowd, every morning! Horrendous smell in the bar, pool area , a sort of dirty cheesy, drain smell, often saw senior managers walking around spraying strong smelling air freshener to try and mask it. Drinks measures are huge, if that's your thing then great, I didn't particularly enjoy watching people throwing up in the ladies and on one memorable evening a woman peed herself in the lift in full view of the bar and restaurant. There is definitely an issue with a stomach bug, we were there for ten days, I had come prepared with antibac wipes and hand sanitizer and used them religiously, my husband was less cautious and from days six he was horribly ill , violent sickness and diarrhoea, we talked to other guests who had also been ill, elderly guests required medics and ambulances were called on at least 3 occasions that I'm aware of. I didn't get sickness or diarrhoea, I had been very careful of hygiene and food choices, despite this I was ill the last couple of days, nausea and headache, I'm prepared to be pragmatic at put it down to the temperature. Lots of flies in the dining area, particularly around the bread and salads. We most definitely will not be returning, but if it's your thing to eat English food all day, sitting around a dirty pool on sweat stained loungers getting drunk on cheap alcohol, then this is the place! We were too tired and ill to get organised for our departure, we ordered the airport picnic bag, which consists of... A tin of tuna. A tin of pate. A sachet of Nutella. A sachet of jam. A Madeline cake. Oil/vinegar An apple/ pear 200ml pineapple juice Water Enjoy!!!!!!
Hotel looks lovely and spotless. Its obviously not clean!! There is some nasty bug in this hotel. Loads of guests had been unwell during our weeks stay there 15th - 22nd August including myself and my Husband. Flies in restaurant mostly around bread rolls and Salads. I didnt eat salads. Jet2 need medical certificates from GPS or Hospital visit before they will even contemplate looking into what is happening in hotel! Wont accept receipts from pharmacy for medication bought. Surely the reviews everywhere on social media are not wrong in saying this hotel needs full Health n Safety check. 1st time at Hotel and we won't be back. Its not a 4star hotel either. Food choices are limited, also bowls for soups are stacked up and left out with water in some of them. Had to dry many off with napkins before using. And I agree with other reviwer there's a smell around bar area sometimes. Would love to know what bug that was that took days out of our holiday. Been to benidorm hotels for 28 yrs and never experienced this, ever.
My husband and i stayed at this hotel 1st 2weeks of july. 4 days into are stay we both became really ill with sickness and diareahe. Reading these latest review about this illness surelly something should be done regarding this hotel.
