This wonderful property is a stylish design hotel perfectly situated next to Arenal Beach with spectacular views over the sea and the emblematic rock Peñón de Ifach. The hotel is conveniently set in the centre of Calpe, only a few steps from restaurants, bars, shops and other entertaining venues. The airport can be reached within a 50-minute drive. The city combines the charm of a traditional fishing village with modern amenities. This is a wonderful place to start discovering Calpe and the Costa Blanca. The property features contemporary style rooms that will please all types of guests. They come with the essential amenities for the best and most comfortable experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This hotel is SUPERB in every aspect and should be rated as a 5star hotel. Spacious modern property overlooking beach and sea. Within close walking distance of the promenade with featured restaurants and bars with a low key beautiful and chilled atmosphere. Facilities at hotel superb breakfast amazing bedrooms extremely with a spacious modern bathroom. "Menus" for pillow and mattress options and a complimentary fragrance choice of 5 for the bedrooms !! Staff amazing efficient and helpful. Would definitely return to this SUPERB hotel
This was our 8th visit to this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it due mainly to it's location and it's comfort and cleanliness, and the oh so comfortable beds, your beds are amazing, and of course, the fabulous food and drink at breakfast time. The lady who seems to manage the staff at breakfast (I didn't catch her name) is so friendly and welcoming and always has a nice smile. Maria who was on the eggs counter everyday, she too was sooo friendly and always greeted us with a lovely smile and hello and enjoy your food or whatever. Another very good member of staff at breakfast was Leidy, again, so welcoming, helpful and smiling, no matter how busy the restaurant was. Jack on reception is a lovely lad, the perfect personality and customer service to be on reception, wheras Noel who checked us in on arrival was not very friendly or welcoming at all, he was a bit arrogant and rude. This year sadly, we noticed a few negatives, the biggest one being how horrible and how loud the "music" was at the Beach Club from 5pm. Fair enough, 5 - 5:30 they do a bit of aquarobics and we're happy to endure the oh so loud noise for half an hour but most afternoons the noise continued till 7pm. I said to my husband that I felt they were playing it so loud in order to get people out of the Beach Club because they want everyone out by 7pm sharp! And I was right, I used to look over the balcony to watch the exodus of people who also didn't like the volume or the choice of "music" This is an adults only hotel and they are mostly older adults who are used to enjoying "proper" music, not this hip hop rave rubbish! Come on Solymar, that high volume is really not neccessary! It doesn't suit the ambience or the environment of the type of hotel you are. A couple of the afternoons they had a singer and a saxophonist, soooo much easier on the ears! We hope this is not the start of the hotel changing in order to appeal mainly to young people..
We stayed here for 4 nights bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean and modern with great facilities. There are 2 pool areas, a main beach club pool which we used, we always managed to get sunbeds but it was incredibly busy. The other pool is very small on the rooftop. There is sun cream provided and fruit offered. The breakfast was fantastic, such a great selection with great views of the sea. Could not fault this at all.
The hotel is in a great location seconds from the beach and a strip of shops and restaurants. The old town is a short walk (uphill!) with more restaurants and shops. We also walked to the Alsa bus station which is about 20 mins and got a bus to Benidorm & Altea for around 3 euros.
We had a sea view room which was huge! We had a bath and separate shower and a large bed which was very comfortable and a pillow menu. The only thing we could fault with the room was the limited storage as there are no drawers provided but this wasn’t too much of an issue. Our only fault overall was we were not offered a welcome drink or received a complimentary beach bag and hat as mentioned in other reviews as they had apparently ran out, this wasn’t an issue but would have been nice.
We had a great stay and would absolutely return if coming back to Calpe.
Visited hotel Solymar last week the hotel is lovely, it is spotlessly clean both inside and around the grounds. A small thing there is limited drawer space in the bedrooms but lovely toiletries in the bathroom, slippers and coffee making facilities, been British we also asked for a kettle which you can get from reception for a deposit which is refunded when you take the kettle back. There is a pillow menu and beds are very large and comfortable. We had a balcony with street view as there were no sea views left although I would upgrade to sea view given the opportunity. There were six of us and we stayed bed and breakfast, the dinning room is lovely with nice sea views and everything you can imagine to eat just fabulous. Throughout the hotel staff are really friendly. The pool area is not opened until 9am we would arrive at 9.30 and could easily get a sun-bed but as the day went on the area did get filled up, however pool attendant was strict, monitoring the beds and towels would be removed if beds were unattended. You would be offered slices of fruit while sun bathing and the towels are good quality and you can have small pillow, there is an area people leave books for you to read even sun cream available in case you for get yours. There is also pool on the roof and you can get chairs from reception and sit on the beach. The lovely beach is a two minute walk and really lovely and soft sand there are great restaurants very near off the promenade just outside the hotel but also in the old town. We found an amazing restaurant called Lapsus bistro with outstanding food of the very best quality but you have to book and a lovely Greek meal by the Spanish steps. It is so easy to get around 5 mins to most of the restaurants. Entertainment in the hotel was mixed the first few days were not our taste but the second half of the week had great singers you could have a dance to We attended pool aerobics and gin tasting I’m not sure why this hotel is only 4 star as it is in great location and has everything you need will definitely return.
A perfect hotel in every way. Staff friendly, rooms spotless, food great , views fantastic , facilities brilliant, comfortable bed . They've thought of everything here. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Possibly the best view I've ever had breakfast at. ❤️
