Just spent a week at The Residence, fantastic hotel. Great facilities, lovely swimming pools and gardens all very well maintained. The beds in the room were huge and very comfortable. Room service each day. There was a wide and varied choice at the buffet breakfast each morning and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Happy hour in the bars 5-6pm daily. Good location, not too far from the centre of Funchal.
A wonderful hotel and the perfect place to unwind! The Residence in Funchal is a beautiful property that charms you from the moment you arrive. The buffet is fantastic with excellent variety, and the service easily deserves the maximum rating—the staff is genuinely helpful and attentive. It truly is an ideal spot for a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended!
The Hotel Residence is a lovely hotel and the staff are very willing, approachable and friendly. We did not like our room allocation on our first night (we had booked a holiday there for 10 days on a half-board basis) as our room overlooked the road and was quite noisy when sitting outside on the balcony. So I told them at Reception the next day and they very kindly moved us to another room/apartment which had a lovely garden and sea view and we were very happy.
Fantastic stay, beautiful gardens, excellent restaurants, friendly staff. Great location a short bus ride into Funchal town. Plenty of local restaurants in vicinity. Good value meals in the hotel’s excellent restaurants. Rooms are well kept and have seen recent refurbishments.
