BE PREPARED TO HAVE NO SLEEP Great location but the hotel is dire. Be prepared to be kept aWake until 3am with thumping music from casino. Food is poor gave me stomach upset everytime. Room had decor from the 80s with everything falling apart. AVOID

Beautiful hotel in central Funchal with stunning views of the harbour. Hotel and rooms are in excellent condition with beautiful views from the room and the hotel pool. Yes, it is huge, but it is well managed. The Room Attendants are fantastic and keep everything perfect. The breakfast is varied and caters for every taste. The staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful. Would I go back? In a heartbeat, will I be back? Definitely
A wonderful stay. We had a friendly reception. The room was very comfortable and had a balcony. The shower was in a bath but satisfactory. The restaurant was wonderful. We normally eat out on holiday so only booked bed & breakfast. However the evening meals were wonderful. There was a different theme each night so very varied. My wife is vegetarian and was really well catered for. Great deserts. Amazing breakfasts too. The hotel is very central to Funchal so easy to get everywhere. The outdoor pool was amazing as was the cafe there. There were always free loungers. Every evening we sat in the outside bar for cocktails before bed. The staff throughout were wonderful. There was even an ironing room on our floor. It was equal first considering all the hotels we have stayed in both in the UK and abroad
Decent location. Breakfast was good. Room was not cleaned twice until after 5 pm. Linens only changed a few times and had some stains on them including towels with stains. Also coffee cups had lipstick on them. Very little entertainment at night. Mostly none. Outside bar food was not good and took a long time to get. Could use a facelift. But at least a 3 star. Def not a 4 or 5.
