As Madeira’s first All Inclusive resort, Enotel Lido offers a privileged location in the island’s capital and features a relaxing spa. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it is close to public bus stops, and guests can also enjoy a pleasant stroll along the seafront promenade.
As a family of 4 we had 10 nights at this hotel, we found the location very good, with an uber to Funchal costing around €5. There are a number of shops close by to the hotel as well. Food and drink were excellent, good variety and staff were all welcoming. My two boys (11 and 8) enjoyed the kids club, it has so much to do and the staff working there are fantastic. The pool area was great with no need to rush to reserve a sun bed and staff offered a range of drinks while you were relaxing.
Superb hotel. We found location ok, pleasant walk into Funchal about 40 mins. We were lucky to be given a room upgrade. Loved our room, it was large with 2 double beds. Balcony where view was a side view of the sea! Lovely, large bathroom. Fridge and tea/coffee facilities in the room. Air con good and very much needed. All inclusive plus - food options were ok. Fussy eater here so was difficult on some occasions to find enough food. A little kind samey choices by day 6 and 7. Nice pool area and a few bar areas to choose from. Loved the week here and would recommend this hotel.
Beautiful hotel, room was clean, spacious with a wonderful sea and pool view. Staff were amazing. Food was exceptional, so much choice and available 24/7. Drinks were great! The only thing that let the hotel down was the entertainment which is a shame as everyone else was 10/10
Good hotel but outdoor pool access is an obstacle course and an accident waiting to happen, my mother uses a mobility scooter and had no chance at all of accessing the pool I did report this but just the same the next day. A real health and safety issue.!
Best hotel we’ve ever stayed at! Absolutely exceptional service from the start, arrived at the hotel and the moment we got off the bus someone was there to greet us and even take our baggage straight to our room which was a nice touch and completely unexpected. This was definitely a 5 star experience, the staff were lovely, you could book experiences at the hotel that weren’t provided by our holiday provider. The drinks range (alcoholic and non) that were included in our all inclusive package was extensive. The room was great with a stunning sea view. This was the first hotel we’ve stayed at where a family room meant just that, we got 3 beds (a single and then two pushed together for me and my husband) so my child finally got his own bed (most hotels we have to share a twin). The restaurants all offered vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options (only restaurant that couldn’t as the Asian themed one because they use one grill). All food was labelled pretty well (only comment was one dish was labelled as pasta but clearly wasn’t and another was labelled vegetarian but was fish). Other than that they had a gluten free station and labelled the allergens in their food. I would have liked to see the vegetarian options be more relevant to the themed nights and they did start to repeat themselves (they were still delicious and I ate A LOT!!). The restaurant staff in the main dining area were amazing, really attentive and bring your drinks to the table. They were all amazing with our 4 year old, he loved them and they always made him laugh (his favourite was Shyam). We also witnessed one waitress save another guests life from choking while we were there so it was really reassuring to see they were trained in that.
Had absolutely no complaints while staying here, everyone was helpful, it was really clean and the hotel was just lovely. If you do stay, head down the stairs from the lobby and during the day there’s a lovely quiet area with a fish tank and 3 ponds as well as a lovely area filled with plants to walk through. If I stayed in Funchal again I would definitely rebook here ( a lot of other guests staying were people who had stayed 2/3 times already)
