Glorious stay and will be back k to this beautiful island d and hotel
Well where do I start this is the best hotel and holiday we have ever had in Europe. The hotel was so central but away from the crowds- food my goodness was amazing and so well presented. We stayed B&B but had really amazing coffee, service and a choice of buffet or made to order- I love an omelette and these have been the best. All the team are amazing and so friendly and helpful. All in all one of our best experiences- The island is gorgeous and so much to see- Will be back.
Lovely hotel with wonderful staff
Such a perfect time at Castanheiro hotel. Near to all major sites yet just far away from noise of main town area. Room was very clean and spacious. Staff were outstanding. Lovely roof top pool and bar. Breakfast buffet had an enormous amount to choose from with extra special omelettes or scrambled eggs at no extra cost. Although it wasn’t cheap, we could not fault it in any way.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Castanheiro!
We had a wonderful 5-night stay at Hotel Castanheiro. The building has a beautiful history and it is well located. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and had everything we needed. We ate breakfast every morning and dinner, a couple of nights, at Tipografia restaurant and enjoyed the delicious selections! The staff, however, were the most important part of our great experience! Thank you, everyone!!

What a gem!
This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. The mix of history, design and architecture round each corner is fabulous . Too many staff to pick out the best. They are all amazing and work very hard to please their guest. If you’re reading this review with a view to going….. don’t hesitate!
