Allegro Madeira Adults Only

We leave Funchal today after a 10 night stay at the Allegro Hotel Negative the hotel has 2 buildings one near the sea and the other one behind we booked a suite with a sea view were slightly disappointed with the view as it was partially obscured by the block in front we were told all the suites are in the back building and have the same view the front building houses all the double rooms with some having full frontal views unfortunately we could not move to a double room with a full panoramic view as it is hotel policy not to downgrade clients therefore if booking this hotel and the view from your balcony is is a must when on holiday do your homework and contact the hotel direct Positive we have had a lovely time at this hotel it is very clean quiet you can allocate a sunbed at anytime of the day the bus stop is outside the hotel you can get the 1/2 or 4 into Funchal they also have entertainment on the rooftop bar a couple of times a week we would like to thank Elsa guest experience manager for all her help and time during our stay I would not put anyone off coming to this hotel as it is lovely and we have had a fantastic holiday thank you once again Elsa it is people like yourself that make clients come back year after year and we will be one of them looking forward to seeing you in the future.

Had the pleasure of once again spending a week at this beautiful Hotel. Over the past couple of years have visited 5 times, and will be there again this year to celebrate New Year’s. We find the service at the hotel absolutely amazing, staff very friendly and professional, nothing is ever to much. Breakfast is a wonderful experience lots of choice and complemented by Portuguese Champagne perfect way to enjoy your holidays. Hotel is perfect for us, as we prefer Adults Only. Special recommendations for Elsa Jardim who goes above and beyond to ensure that guests needs, are met with efficiency and professionalism, and always willing to listen to my tales of restaurants that I’ve visited, and has her own recommendations for restaurants and things to do on the island.

Second visit and wasn't impressed this time. Staff not as friendly as last year as for roof top bar we sat there until 555 one night and never got served as barman kept going away somewhere. It opens at 530 so should be ready then. Constantly ran out of glasses and cups at breakfast too and not as much food choice as year before. Also no longer accept CASH at bar which if I had known would have put me off booking. I like to see what im spending daily not have a bill at end of 12 days stay. Real shame as we booked this while Sat on the rooftop bar last year to come for 5 days extra as we loved it so much. Disappointed for a Barcelo.
