This luxurious and comfortable hotel is situated directly on the sandy beach of Vilamoura and next to the casino. Very nice hotel, staff were amazing. Paula the therapist in the spa is especially nice and very good at her job.
Room 928 - a junior suite - we had the BEST time. Such a lovely hotel, in a perfect location. The pool area is amazing and the beach is right in front of the hotel. Great location to walk to both Quarteira to the left of the hotel and the Marina to the right of the hotel. Our room was simply lovely which had an overhead fan which i prefer to AC - which is also provided. Balcony was lovely offering seafront views f the pool and the beach. Plenty of wardrobe space. A sexy glass bathroom!! The breakfast provision was abundant - so much to offer, but gets very busy after 10:00am - so plan ahead. We used the night time restaurant once, and despite the food being nice, there is so much to offer elsewhere at cheaper prices. We had some fabulous meals at the marina. Entertainment is not great - but we were elsewhere in the night times so didn't bother us. Thank you to Daniel on the desk for being so welcoming, and to Joao for giving us some great advice.
Lovely hotel in a perfect spot, Reception and Concierge could not do enough for us, lovely size pool with more than enough beds. Pool bar was really reasonably priced at 5 euros for a beer. They were kind enough to let us keep our room on for an extra 2 hours at no cost. We were Bed and Breakfast and the breakfast was amazing, there is nothing i could not find there. A lovely hotel and we will be back.
Stayed here again and had a relaxing week. Staff friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are wonderful and the new cushions make the sun beds so much more comfortable.
The hotel shuts in about 2 weeks for a few months for much needed major renovations.
Hopefully will include ( in no particular order) : 1 Additional lighting in public toilets. You practically need your phone torch to see where you are going 2 Hydration stations to top up water bottles 3 Bedside drawers, not just a table 4 At least 1 mirror in the bedroom, not just in the bathroom! 5 More entertainment in the evening 6 A bar that isn’t hidden behind pillars and welcomes guests to sit there and chat. 7 solar panels to heat the freezing cold pool water.
Lovely location away from the buzz of the marina but less than 10 mins to walk there. This was our 3rd visit to this hotel. Rooms are great and clean with good housekeeping. Only negative is the two separate occasions we had groups of about 8-10 men who we presumed to be golfers, and who were very noisy, drinking many beers, and raucous round the pool on a few afternoons spoiling enjoyment for other guests. This was over our first weekend and then a few days later on 16th September another even louder group arrived. They also pulled tables together to sit on the terrace outside the restaurant late afternoon into early evening which did not create an enjoyable atmosphere - so for two nights we went for a pre dinner drink at the nearby Tivoli hotel and sat on their terrace which was more civilised and calm. Seemed a shame and we all felt a member of staff from Guest Relations should have asked them to quieten down or leave the area. Their behaviour was unacceptable as was their language.
The hotel shuts in Nov for an upgrade to Intercontinental within the IHG brand, which we hope might deter these undesirable groups. We fully appreciate Portugal is a golfers paradise but it’s not a gentleman’s sport any longer it seems.
