Looking up at the exterior you would wonder how this hotel got built as its out of character with its environment, but when your in it at the rooftop bar / restaurant you realise the spectacular views it has. Dinner in the rooftop was average, but the view over the city towards the sea made up for it. Nice interiors, the pools are very relaxed and quiet with an excellent pool bar, pool dining area. Rooms were clean, ok size, wide opening doors to the balcony, we paid a little extra for the view towards the pool and sea in the distance and it was well worth it. One real niggle, breakfast finished sharp sharp on time and we were asked to leave when we were finishing breakfast, and the cleaners started knocking an hour before check-out, giving a slightly regimented feel to the place. Overall a nice place, the pools very relaxing, the view from the roof bar amazing. Its also adults only so no kids running around making noise.
This is a fabulous hotel . Our welcome was fantastic offering us a lovely cool drink ( and wine) after a long day travelling. The rooms overlooking the pool are the best and the rooms were very clean and spacious. The hotel had a lovely vibe but was peaceful around the pool . Fantastic rooftop terrace and a short walk into Tavira town. Great friendly staff well done AP Maria Lounge.
Had the best time at this hotel. It is perched on top of a hill overlooking the town. All the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The gentlemen who greeted us at breakfast every morning always raised a smile. Our room was large with a balcony and very well equipped with table, chairs and sofa, fridge, tea making facilities, hair dryer and safe. The bed was comfortable although the room could be very hot at times as the air conditioning couldn't cope with the size of the room. The breakfast has something for everyone and the piano player helped with the relaxing vibe which can be found throughout the hotel. There is a spa, swimming pool, hairdresser. The roof-top bar and restaurant is nice and has great views. All of the public areas of the hotel are very clean and our room was cleaned perfectly every day. We came to the hotel as part of a package and paid a bit more than we usually would but it was money well spent. The only negatives are the noise from the road and the train but it wasn't excessive with the trains only once every hour. Also, trying to get hot tea was an issue a couple of times with the water boiler not heating properly.
Came here with friends for a short stay and it was enjoyable from start to finish. Always a good thing when you are given a complimentary glass of wine on arrival. Rooms were nice and clean with balconies. Did not eat in hotel but enjoyed the roof top bar - a bit too much but the cocktails were very good. Short walk into town and plenty of places to eat. A special shout out to Rebecca (Becky) who looked after our room. She was lovely friendly chatty and always stopped to chat,if she wasn’t busy. A credit to the hotel as were all staff we came into contact with. Would definitely stay again.
Another wonderful holiday in Maria Nova Hotel excellent service with amazing staff apart from three miserable staff on reception Tiago is brilliant on Reception and Luis is the most charming and lovely person who runs The Restaurant Breakfast is superb a great location and a well run hotel The carpets in the bedroom corridors need shampooing and sunshades around the pool need an update
