This beach hotel is located in the tourist centre of Montegordo in the Algarve. The hotel is idyllically situated just 300 metres from the Algarve's most magnificent beaches and is just 400 metres away from the vibrant resort. One week stay in June. Shared twin room. Room was clean, though they should really brush & mop under the beds. Bit dusty. Took my own kettle after reading other reviews ( fold down silicone £10 Amazon), asked for china cups from reception. Though not sure why rooms don't have coffee/tea making facilities. Handy fridge, asked reception for paper cups for our colds drinks! Beds made every day & clean towels .Quiet hotel, our room overlooked road . No problem with noise. Friendly staff, food is good. No ceral available for breakfast! Cooked,yogurts, fresh fruit, pastries etc. Had one evening meal ( buffet style). 10 mins walk to beach & plenty of places to eat out ,all walking distance. Supermarkets for drinks for your fridge located nearby. Overall happy stay.
We are currently staying at Hotel Alcazar and we really cannot fault it. The staff are so helpful, friendly and approachable. The food is very good with a good selection to suit all tastes. The rooms are very spacious and are cleaned daily. Pool towels are available with the token you're given on arrival. There are plenty of bars and restaurants locally if you wanted a change. Beach is also very nice and you can hire 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for €20. This is our 5th visit to this hotel and we will be back again! If you like a coffee in your room in the morning, bring a travel kettle as there are no facilities to make one in the rooms.
Fabulous hotel, rooms were spacious, great view, lovely breakfast, well equipped gym and very friendly cleaning staff. Short walk to the beautiful beach. Would highly recommend and would love to return.
This was our first visit to Portugal and wanted somewhere with a local vibe away from stag and hen parties. This hotel and resort did not disappoint! The hotel is exceptionally clean, all the staff are so friendly. The pool area is perfect with a great choice of sunbeds, none of which need reserving at 7am! There were always beds available. Breakfast had a good choice. The pool bar had a lovely menu and extremely good value, as were the drinks. Cocktails in the main bar were perfect! Entertainment at night is low key and relaxing but there are other bars in the town that have live music and DJs. Rooms very comfortable and spacious. There are so many beautiful restaurants and fabulous that we tried. Not one bad meal out. This has to be the cheapest holiday we’ve had for eating out, but definitely the best. Will definitely return!
Have to say this is not 4 star. The hotel has been refurbished and you can tell!! To be honest we had a great room with 2 balconies and it was very clean. The lady who cleaned our room was superb. What let the Hotel down was no kettle or cups in the rooms and the poor selection of breakfast and what I found disturbing was the guy who insisted spraying empty tables from a height with disinfectant and didn't realise that the the spray was covering our food. Seriously Alcazar, first rule of food hygiene!!! The pool area is good and beds are plentiful, not great and the cabanas could do with a good clean. Ants and flies are plentiful in both pool areas and balconies, so beware. Dont think I would go back but see how you get on...........
