Belmar Spa and Beach Resort

The room we had was not as good as the previous year, and old TV with no smart ability or Netflix. Previously we had two twin rooms where as this year a twin and double. The pillows were also very disappointing. The ground floor shower was completely unusable due having a broken shower head and the two other showers were over the bath and generally very poor. The gym was extremely disappointing. One of the 2 treadmills was broken, a lot of the weights were in poor condition and most importantly the AC was not working for the duration of our stay. The external doors were left open and guests from the pool etc regularly walked through the gym. This had a real impact on our stay. The breakfast, whilst well managed and enjoyable didn't seem quite as good as the previous year. Items regularly ran down/out, the bowl of natural yoghurt had gone in and been replace with pots and the mixed fruit didn't seem as good. The pool had a broken light laying on the side with exposed wires for a number of days, there was a broken depth tile next to the baby pool that was very sharp and there was a very limited number of umbrellas. Some guests opted to take multiple umbrellas from the few available meaning finding shade with 3 young children was very difficult.
One afternoon the kids ordered the chicken strips from the pool bar as they did most days. They had however been replaced with an alternative poorer product that was clearly a cheap mechanically recovered chicken product that was subsequently not eaten. The condition of the decorative pool between the main pool and gym was also disappointing looking very run down and in need of repair. On the whole, not as good as they year prior and the reason we re-booked. I am not satisfied with what we received for what we paid, especially at a spa resort with a barely functioning gym.

We were beyond pleased with our experience at the Belmar. We loved our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment- it was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff is kind, attentive, accomodating and responsive. The location of the hotel was perfect for us- walking distance to the beach, and a short taxi ride to the Lagos City Centre. It was super easy to get a ride with Bolt. The pools were nice - the pool bar had good options for food and drinks. We didn't have time to use any of the Spa services, but the Spa staff was very gratious in helping us get clean beach towels each day. We highly recommend the Belmar.

We loved the location and the option of beach or pool. I do feel that a shuttle should have been available to the beach for elderly walkers but it was only few minutes and okay for us. Pool areas were lovely especially the adult pool. Breakfast was good. Staff were all very helpful. The unit itself I found sparse and not very comfortable, we had a three bedroom unit. View was not special. I don’t feel the value was there but it was clean and fit our needs.
