The beautiful town of Praia da Luz is less than 10 minutes by car. Faro International Airport is about 90 km away. Not worth the money
We stayed for 7 nights in July 2026 and were very disappointed. We expected a beautiful resort as is seen in the photos but the resort did not live up to what is portrayed. The facilities are quite poor. For example the gym is very small and basic, the pool areas are subpar, our beds were hard and uncomfortable, we had so many ants in the room, in 7 nights, our room was cleaned only twice, we had issues with a power outage, broken kitchen items and door keys not working. There is no service when you pull up. The proximity to the beach is the only real plus and even with that, there is not benefit from the hotel. You still need to pay for sun beds. The pool towels they gave us often had big holes in them. The wifi was weak. We ate at the restaurant once and our meal was beautiful. Overall, the price was very inflated and we were very disappointed. The pools were by far the most disappointing area- it is not what you would expect for a 4 star resort and by what they charge. They are old and tired and need a desperate upgrade.
Lagos Experience
Overall good experience albeit little over priced. Check 10 am is to early the location is excellent and on site parking SPA and pools were nice. Sea view is more a pool view with sea in background not what I thought I booked view didn’t match the photos price for room has no amenities good for family get away overall very quiet relaxing
Great Stay at Belmar
Lovely, spacious apartment close to the beach. The pool(s) were great. I wish there were a few more shady areas, as the sun gets strong throughout the day and the umbrellas went quickly. Very fast 10-minute walk down to the beach. I was glad to have had a washing machine after traveling for a few days. The bathroom could have used some hooks for towels, etc. It was also convenient to have a full kitchen for breakfast/snacks. The bar also offered a nice happy hour. Except for the beach, everything is a drive, so keep that in mind.

I have been visiting the Belmar since 2013 and watched it develop into the wonderful unique place it is. The ability for my family to have the benefits of a gorgeous apartment plus excellent hotel facilities is just what we need. Other reviews reflect that. The very odd negative review posted whilst I was actually at the resort bears NO resemblance to the hotel and spa I know and love. I look forward to making many more happy memories there and attach a few snaps of our recent stay ! Superb staff, friendly vibe, great food and beautiful clean well maintained facilities - obrigada Belmar

Lovely and Relaxing
Upon arrival, after sitting on trains for hours, encountering countless delays, we were greeted by the friendly staff and able to check in early. Our room was so tidy, cool and convenient. Close proximity to the beach and a quick uber to the city center and nearby grocery stores. The pools were amazing, really appreciated there being an adults only pool. Front desk and pool bar staff were amazing. Some of the walls and easy to miss spots could use the help of a magic eraser but other than that I have no complaints.
