Great resort. Very good staff. Clean room with huge comfy bed. Pool lovely with good shade and fab juice/ drinks bar. Campinar restaurant on beach really good too. We had a fab stay and would like to return.
Beautiful resort. Apartment was spacious, clean and well maintained. Beautiful view of pool and beach from our deck. Location close to the beach was a plus. Restaurant food was good. Service also good. We had a very favourable experience all round. I would recommend and would go back if I make it back to Portugal.
This is my 4th stay at Belmar. I have always found it a quiet and relaxing base, and happy to pay a lttle bit more to avoid noise. Sadly this wasn’t the case on my last visit. The adult pool area is always busy and impossible to find a lounger after 11am Unfortunately guests leave their towels and belongings on the loungers even though they are not in use, and the hotel seems reluctant to try and stop or discourage this. There is a larger family pool, but this was noisy despite being term time. The peace and quiet was further spoiled by hen weekenders engaging in drunken karaoke on their balcony. The rooms are nice but the showers are nothing special and for this price you’d expect a decent rain shower. I would say though that the staff are incredibly pleasant and enhance the stay.
The apartment was very spacious and in it there were good facilities inside. I do think the rugs need refreshing with new ones. Could also do with a deep clean and lick of paint. The showers are small but mighty. The wifi in our block wasn't working for two days and it wasn't spotlessly clean. The pool areas were all quiet, a very peaceful atmosphere. The location is good- 2 minute walk to the beach which has a cafe and a restaurant on. It's approximately 30 minutes to walk into town and a 5 minute taxi back. Didn't try the breakfast here but tried lunch x2 by the pool and that was great! I would recommend Belmar, it is 4 star but some parts are 3.
The Belmar is a beautiful resort. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a rooftop. The apartment has sufficient space for 4 adults. The rooftop was awesome for sunset views and ocean views. The spa was fun and the poolside bar by the spa was relaxing. The Belmar staff receives a lesser shout out! The reception area which greets people, the first impression to the hotel were not always helpful or kind… sadly we experienced a few negative interactions. We did bring this to the managers attention.
