In the heart of Faro, the gateway to the Algarve: This contemporary style hotel is situated in the very centre of the city, overlooking the harbour and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The historical and commercial centres with a large variety of restaurants, bars and shops are just a few steps away. Right next to the hotel is a bus stop providing easy access to the airport and the beautiful Faro Island with its sandy beach. This property offers 134 rooms overlooking the city view or marina views. In-room amenities include LCD TV, safe box, minibar, air conditioning, direct telephone, hair dryer and personal hygiene products. The hotel has restaurants serving local dishes while the bar offers contemporary and relaxed atmosphere with exotic drinks.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
A hugely disappointing experience on so many levels with our stay in this hotel. To have no pool or sun lounger situation and no notice received by us this was a disaster we never would have stayed or at the very least we would have postponed our trip. No beach with easy access either. But the worst thing was having my wife berated and aggressively spoken to by Georgeta the breakfast chef for cutting her bread in a certain way was just unbelievable the other members of staff Julia and Duarte are totally unsuitable for their jobs in my opinion. The aftermath was dealt with in a more professional manner thankfully but as this was a holiday and my wife was upset the damage was done. The restaurant closed in the evening except for two days is frankly another deal breaker and our experience in the other designated spot did not come up to the standard we were expecting. I could go on but it’s just more of the same a very unpleasant and disappointing experience for us at the Ap Eva senses.
We have stayed at the Eva Senses many times including this time last year . We love the hotel it’s location and it’s rooftop SWIMMING POOL and bar but thanks to Jet2 and it’s incompetences they failed to mention the swimming pool isn’t there due to renovation .I do not blame the hotel in any way as they informed Jet2 last October that the pool will be closed until further notice as for the staff in all our visits they have never been anything but polite , courteous and very helpful. After many text message conversations with Jet2 they have now changed the booking page informing you that the pool is closed but the message is only in the small print .At no point where we told by Jet2 that the rooftop bar and pool were closed
So last Sunday we arrived at the hotel and then we found out that we have to be checked in at 2 PM I was extremely angry with this because we were tired and we had a 2 hour flight then to top it all we found out that the Roof top pool was shut 😡😡. The next day we had breakfast and the food was nice. Room outstanding and lovely. Location Is fantastic I love the marina especially at night. So overall not the best experience but it was a bit meh 🫤 but some of it was good then today we had no power what a joke so much of a holiday this unbelievable 😡😡😡 but what really made me angry the housekeeping maids can’t do there job properly. There was no entertainment in the hotel and we didn’t bother with the restaurant too expensive. I good bits are I got to experience going on a boat
A few things not quite right, bearing in mind the cost of this hotel. Didn’t replenish coffee pods or tea bags on day 2. We started with two bath robes but one was taken away on day two. Paying a deposit at reception for towels to use in the spa pool seemed unnecessary. Why not pick up and drop at the pool? €5 for an obligatory bathing hat - bring your own or use the shower cap. The rooftop pool used to be a real attraction but it is not in use. The breakfasts are still excellent.
What I liked about this hotel
Location- near the marina and very close to bus and train station.
Ruben was very helpful at reception.
Rooms- very clean, comfortable beds. Even though my room was facing the main road, I didn't hear much noise.
Boat trip to the beach- free! What a service!
Breakfast- was given a basket of gluten free bread- croissants, rolls and a small pastry.
Buffet - lots to choose from. Would have liked a gluten free dessert that wasn't fruit. Good value at 21 euro. Loved the selection of sea food. Allergens clearly marked. This was important to me as a Coeliac.
Would I stay here again- Absolutely!
