I was really looking forward to this hotel and I'm quite disappointed. The food and customer service was great. But honestly I would not rate this hotel a true 5 star hotel, the carpets in the hallways are old and dirty that was one of the first things I noticed, our room floors were dirty upon arrival and never cleaned, the mini bar was never restocked during our 3 day stay... And the pool is dirty and all stained, and so blah they don't even have soft pool music playing. Unfortunately it does not look like this hotel cares much about the upkeep to maintain it as a 5 star as it might have been at one point. I will say the location is perfect and close to restaurants, bars ect. The cliffs and view from the hotel itself was beautiful but I can't say that we would stay here again.
Great location. Close enough to walk home from city center area, but not so close you have all the tourists. Also close to seven hanging valleys trail and the Algar Seco coves. Great valet and parking so easy to get your car or catch an uber from here. We had a great dinner at The One restaurant. Food was great, service could have been a little better. We made reservations to celebrate wedding anniversary, but were not provided a good table with a view and didn't have any acknowledgment that we were celebrating anything, like you typically expect from a really nice place.
The rooftop bar was really nice and had music. Also they have a great breakfast bar to get your day started. We enjoyed the pool area on the hot afternoons. The only complaint we had was how hard the bed was. We had to lay on the comforter and even requested a second comforter our final night to help provide some level of padding. We would still recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Carvoiero area.

This hotel is supposed to be the best hotel in the town. Having stayed at hotels world wide I can only say that this hotel is style over substance. We booked in which took ages, our room was straight in front of the swimming pool so you could not open the curtains as then you would be in full view of everyone using the pool. Complained, staff could not care less, said they had another room but when we went to look at it, it was occupied, very awkward. Our room was not cleaned at all, coffee stains and stains on the bathroom floor which were left yesterday have not been clean today. All they did was make the bed and change the towels. The Skybar is the most rip off place I have ever been in. The drink menu took 15 minutes to arrive, the order took 15 minutes to take and the drinks themselves took an additional 15 minutes to arrive. The cost was extortionate and one drink a martini blanco had two sips in the glass for 8 euros. Please do yourselves a favour and do not stay at this place. The only good thing is breakfast and the breakfast staff are nice, the only ones who are. Never to return!
