Great stay !
Very friendly welcome to the hotel by all staff. On our first night we discovered a leak in our bathroom and was moved to another room the next morning with no hesitation. My daughter unfortunately was ill whilst on holiday and the hotel staff were very good at giving advice as to what medical treatment we could opt for. In the end we opted for a doctor to come to the hotel to treat my daughter. The dr arrived within a Couple of hours and was able to treat my daughter. Thank you to the staff who facilitated this. This hotel is very relaxed, we only had breakfast at the hotel and ordered snacks from the bar at lunchtime. Everything was tasty. The hotel was very clean and spacious. Although the hotel is little out of the way we never had any trouble ordering a taxi to take us to our location. The beach’s beside the hotel are little gems. I would definitely come back to this hotel for a relaxed chilled stay with friendly staff.
Beautiful location
Such a lovely break away here. Views were exceptional, our room balcony overlooked the sea. Area was quiet, some nice walks on an evening. We really enjoyed the indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room and ended each day in that area. The meals were pretty standard but we expected this and ate out on the odd occasion. We did think in general the layout could be better, the pool bar could be used a bit better on an evening time to maximise the views as the indoor bar didn’t really attract many people. What was great here were the staff. The hotel manager really went out of his way to resolve a problem for us. The cleaners were really friendly and did a great job every day. There was a waiter in the dining room, Daniel, who was always running round with a big smile on his face, laughing and joking with guests. There was always sunbeds, this hotel operated a system where you couldn’t reserve sunbeds with towels which actually took a lot of stress away when wanting to be by the pool. They had a gent out managing the seagulls which I was concerned about from previous reviews and we barely saw any. Beach was easily accessible. Reception staff arranged our excursions. All in all a great hotel.

Lovely stay and gluten free son!
We have been to the Viking 3 times now and always return as its location is amazing, brilliant views, lovely restaurants etc. nearby. Little tourist bus train is just up the road and also so close to the beach. There are many things the hotel could improve on, for example, a bit of paint here and there, plants on ground floor balconies. Air conditioning wasn’t great in our room and our fridge didn’t work very well. But we loved our stay and would go back. The breakfast was great - coeliac son was well catered for with gluten free breads at breakfast. Be careful to ask for your bill at the bar as sometimes service charge is added for 1 drink!
Our stay at Pestana Viking Ocean Resort
Loved our stay at Pestana Viking Ocean Resort. The suite was well equipped and requests for additional supplies were addressed timely. The beds were firm, they supplied toppers which made them more comfortable for those who are not firm sleepers. The views from the balcony and pool were amazing. We were concerned about parking but had no issues finding spots up the street each evening during the busy season. Would return to this resort.

Great second stay: very relaxing
Second stay at Pestana Viking and was not disappointed. .it's a beautiful quiet location and would stress that this is a hotel for those seeking relaxation yet caters efor young families well in the daytime.
Rooms are comfortable and our room (312) was pleasantly located close to reception with a nice side sea view. Felt like room had been recently freshly painted also!
I stayed with Jet 2 and felt I got a great deal when evaluating alongside other similar 4 star hotels.
Special shout out to housekeeping they are very friendly, kind and do a really lovely job!
