W Algarve

After we had to leave our previous hotel due to pool safety reasons it was great to arrive at W Algarve.

A fantastic welcome from the moment we arrived, a lovely spacious room with a comfy bed and a great balcony.

The pool area was great, no rushing for loungers and staff looking after you all the time.

Breakfast was good, great buffet and a good selection from the menu. Can highly recommend Papermoon Italian restaurant. Great food and great service.

An Exceptional Stay at W Algarve

I would return to this hotel every day of the week! We stayed at the W Algarve for a week at the end of May 2026, and from start to finish, we had a fantastic experience.

Our room was exceptional. Although the view wasn’t the best, the beautiful garden more than made up for it. The hotel was everything you would expect from a five-star property — and then a little bit more.

The grounds were immaculately maintained, and everywhere you looked was pleasing to the eye. There were plenty of peaceful areas to sit, relax and simply enjoy the surroundings. The local walking trails were another highlight — a great workout while also being incredibly enjoyable.

The surrounding area was also lovely to explore, with some excellent restaurants and beautiful local beaches nearby. There was a great balance between having everything you need at the hotel and being able to get out and experience the local area.

If I had one gripe from the entire week, it would be the use of the jacuzzi pools. We noticed several parents bringing young children and babies into them, despite our assumption that these pools were intended as adults-only areas. It did take away slightly from the relaxing atmosphere they were designed to provide.

That aside, we had an absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel, grounds, location and overall atmosphere were superb, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. A truly fantastic five-star experience and a hotel I would highly recommend.

Checking in Very easy process, we got there early and so our room was not ready, but we were given a welcome drink then welcomed to the W lounge area. The receptionist who checked us in brought over a map of the hotel and talked us through everything on the complex and then called us when our room was ready.

Rooms Amazing, so spacious with a great balcony which is very private. The bed was comfy and huge! The room was cleaned every day and turn down service was a nice treat!

Breakfast Great selection with the most friendly staff! Food was fresh every day. The fresh teas that they made were amazing!

Pool Area Extremely clean and tidy. The staff were brilliant. They couldn’t do enough for you. They remembered your name from day 1. Pool was a nice temperature. Cool enough for when it was hot to cool you down but not too hot. There is also a jacuzzi area!

Cabana We hired a cabana for the day, there is a minimum spend but was worth it. Nice area with a TV and service all day for anything you would like. They even set you up a couple of sunbeds first thing.

Paper Moon The Italian restaurant, lovely vibe and the food was great! Worth a visit

Vino We only went here for a couple of wines but they have an amazing selection.

Market Kitchen - grill night We booked the Grill night at Market Kitchen (this is also where breakfast is held). It did not disappoint! We loved it. Even though most of it was buffet it was always warm and fresh! My husband loved the sardines which were served at the beginning! Also they cooked your steak however you wanted it.

AIR The lovely outdoor bar, you can’t quite see the sunset but it’s a great place. The food is great there! We ordered a little too much as the portions are quite big!
