Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Had the most amazing time at this hotel. Rooms are spotlessly clean if a little dated. Big shout out to our cleaner who we never met but appriciated. We booked half board and found the breakfast to be excellent but evening buffet was very disappointing. After 3 nights we discovered that the al a carte at the Basilico restaurant offered a £22 discount to each half board resident and the food was really nice. All the staff in the hotel are lovely, so pleasant and helpful from the reception to the bar and restaurant staff. Also can't recommend the Aqua aerobics instructors enough, putting in 💯 to make it fun and exhausting.
Not sure what's going on with the flies, drove us mad around the grass sunbathing area.
Will be returning here without a doubt.
The hotel is in a beautiful location on top of the cliff, overlooking the sea, well manicured gardens, to get to the sea you have go down quite a few steps once on the beach it is flat, the hotel does not have any beds on this beach. The room was a bit dated but very clean. The food was good 👍 a lot of variety, you can use the hotel next door the Bluebay . The us a swimming pool the water is cold to get into, lots of beds plus some in the garden area.
We have been coming to this hotel many times over the past year. Everything about this hotel is always good. I have marked down the rooms, only in respect that they need updating, which I am glad to hear in commencing at the end of this year, along with all of the main arrears of the hotel. We have already booked for next year and are excited to see the updates made. One thing that will be constant will be the excellent service from the friendly staff.
Great hotel with beautiful facilities and views of the sea. Location is not particularly good if you want lots of shops and restaurants close by
Stayed in this hotel for a week with glorious weather, wonderful views and beautiful gardens with plenty of secluded spots to enjoy sun or shade on several decking areas. The stunning Falesia beach is via 126 wooden steps but actually wasn’t too bad on the way up as there are a couple of benches to stop for a rest. You access the steps through the hotel gardens by pressing a button on the side but to get back in you have to use your room key card. The hotel is run very efficiently with friendly, polite and helpful staff everywhere. The room was very comfortable with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The only thing I would have liked to see was an iron and ironing board, although you could borrow a steamer which I decided against. The Italian restaurant which is on site was very good and we used twice. You can also use the facilities at the PortoBay hotel next door via a walkway where they have a French restaurant which we also used twice. We went to the buffet in the hotel one evening which was fine but I prefer to be waited on! The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice but could be rather crowded at times. The evening entertainment was mixed but was still nice to relax after a lovely meal. I understand the hotel is going to be renovated during the winter as it’s a bit old fashioned but perfectly clean and comfortable.
