Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Was our 1st stay at Porto Bay Falesia Hotel, after staying for many years next door in the former Riu palace/sensimar/tui blue, which is now Porto Bay Blue Ocean.. but to expensive. The staff in Porto bay falesia, were all so lovely & helpfully. Lovely Irish lady, forgotten her name, was so welcoming. Service in diningroom & pool bar was extremely very good.😊 Room was spacious & very clean. Although I struggled getting in the bath to have a shower! We did ask if there was a room with a shower only, staff did try but wasn't a shower only room available until 2 days before we came home. So we stayed in that room, i just managed.. but staff did try. Food at breakfast was excellent, food & food choices at evening meal was also excellent. In fact, we thought the food in this hotel was the best out of 4 hotels we've ever stayed in over the 21 years we've came to olhos. Hats off to the chefs & cooking team👏 Pool areas were very clean. Plenty of sun loungers to. Was a garden area full of loungers, plus wooden platforms in different areas with beds on. Views were stunning. Happy hour, plus football on screens & tv was a plus for many to. Entertainment every night also. We also had full access to facilities in the Blue Ocean next door. If I had to be picky, my only 2 complaints would be,
Overall, we had a fantastic time, lovely staff, hotel & food. Hopefully we'll return next year. Just hope after the refurb in winter, prices don't go to high 🤞
Just back from another great trip to the Algarve and stayed for 4 nights at the Portobay Falesia hotel.
Great location and very handy to all the best restaurants and beaches
As usual the hotel exceeded our expectations on every level and the fact that it has been freshened up was a bonus.
A friendly welcoming hotel the hotel team can't do enough for you and it was great to see some familiar faces still there behind the desk and at the door.
The room was spacious with a lovely sea view, they were quiet and comfortable (although the bed a little firmer than I prefer).
It represents great value as breakfast is included and what a breakfast it was. A superb selection and always fresh and hot.

On first impressions, you may overlook this hotel. But when you look at the price and what it offers, the location and overall service... I think you'll be impressed. Is it 5 star? No. But it's not pertaining to be. And when you look at the price and what's on offer in terms of facilities, location and food... it really is fabulous. Food is fresh, nicely served and good. Haute cuisine? No. But it's abundant and very good. Staff are excellent and attentive.
I had the most wonderful mini break as part of a friends' wedding. I loved the hotel particularly the quality of service. The staff were all helpful, friendly and keen to help e.g. I asked for a clean beach towel in reception and by the time I had reached the third floor the domestic lady was waiting with a towel for me - amazing. The food was great - the buffet at breakfast covered everything.
