Centrally located resort of Albufeira, the Paladim Aparthotel is well run by friendly staff, creating a relaxing atmosphere. FROM 15/12/2016 AHEAD Paladim and Alagoamar aparthotel (situated in the same building) will join to be one hotel with 1 reception ONLY and all the services will be available for both hotels. The hotel is located between Old town of Albufeira and new town (The Strip), meaning guests will have the whole of the resort to explore. The location really is a fantastic feature of this hotel, which active families and couples will enjoy. Paladim is not far from beaches, so is ideal for people looking to explore or relax on the beach. The swimming pools and sun terraces are set in an attractive garden, the ideal place to spend lazy days. Guests will find numerous shops, restaurants and bars close by. The property provides comfortable accommodation with spacious apartments, all of which feature a selection of amenities including a kitchenette. Guests may enjoy a selection of hotel facilities including 2 outdoor swimming pools and 2 children's pools as well as poolside snack bar/restaurant. During the high season entertainment is provided almost every night. The Paladim has a total of 63 rooms (with Alagoamar 126), some studio and some one-bedroom apartments with avenue or pool view. Even though this is a self-catering apartment block, there are many features and amenities that ensure this will be a lovely stay. Rooms include satellite television, full bathroom facilities and a balcony looking over the avenue or pool view. There are 17 (with Alagoamar 34) studio rooms sleeping one to two persons and 46 one bedroom apartments (with Alagoamar 92) sleeping one to four. Each room offers: microwave, electric hobs, toaster, electric kettle, fridge, sofa bed, satellite television, bathroom with bath and shower, balcony with avenue or pool view. Facilities are the same in Paladim and Alagoamar but decoration is variable.
Dip into one of the 2 outdoor swimming pools or enjoy other recreational amenities, which include karaoke. This aparthotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, an arcade/games room and a hair salon.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We visited end of August and really enjoyed our stay ,the apartments could do with updating but were spacious and clean. The pool areas were lovely and we never had a problem getting a bed near the kids pool for our grandson . The location was perfect for us supermarket next door and lovely reasonable restaurant on the corner .The staff in the hotel were so friendly and helpful ,especially Joa ( not sure if I have the correct spelling for his name) he was very kind when one of our party became unwell ,extremely helpful . We would recommend and would definitely visit again .
This was our third stay at this hotel, we have previously acknowledged the dated appearance but this was made up by the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere in the hotel. This time we were a bit disappointed. Let's start with the positives, the reception staff were friendly and welcoming and always cheerful when we passed by, the reception and communal areas are kept very clean and tidy, and the daytime food is very good value and tasty. Where we felt let down on this visit was with the room cleaning, we stayed a week and not once was our toilet, sink or bath cleaned, so much so that a rather unpleasant ring formed in the toilet that we had to clean ourselves. We also had numerous mix-ups with towels as they kept leaving the incorrect amount, this was never the case on previous visits. Housekeeping seemed to consist of making the beds and changing the towels, we found that different to previous visits and other hotels we have stayed in. The hotel is now very tired and needs significant investment. There also appears to be a lot of changes to staff in the bar and restaurant, and the bar prices are above average. The air-conditioning doesn't work in the bar which makes it incredibly uncomfortable in an evening. The entertainment, with the exception of Pedro Karaoke - who is a huge asset to the hotel, was poor quality pub singers. I want this review to be constructive for the owners and management, so that they can make these improvements to get back on track as it really is a great location, and generally friendly hotel with huge potential.
Hotel is in a great spot being about 15 minutes walk to old town or around the same time to the strip if that’s your thing. The rooms are a little dated but really clean and were serviced everyday. We were B+B so we had breakfast most days which was a little same thing everyday. Bacon sausage eggs etc were on everyday which were all well cooked but a bit repetitive and not much choice for the veggies out there. The staff are all really friendly and the bar has a great choice and at really reasonable prices. This hotel is a definite recommend from us.

We stay in Portugal every year as a family and this year was our first time in this hotel . We loved it ! It’s in the perfect spot ! We found the hotel staff went out their way to help with anything needed. We did move rooms no fault of the hotel and they were really accommodating. I’m probably a rare lover over road noise so we loved being road side and watching life go by on the balcony. Rooms are dated but absolutely spotless! The hotel was pretty quiet lovely atmosphere around the pool the pool people having fun music on but never in ten days was it to loud or two busy , always found a bed and found the drinks and food not only reasonable prices but really enjoyable especially the chicken mushroom dish . As someone with health issues it was extremely helpful that they do room service and reasonable prices on food as well as being so close to the best supermarket which on the third floor has Burger King, Pizza Hut , Taco Bell , sushi and much much more. The supermarket being so close changed our holiday making life so much easier! . Sally the bar member by the pool was also really friendly and helpful along with the staff inside. Honestly don’t have any complaints and plan to come back next Aug.
