Muthu Clube Praia da Oura

I don’t actually think I have ever written a review after an holiday but I just had to regarding this hotel.

We paid a lot of money for this hotel as we went during the 6 weeks holidays (we have just come home now)

Please don’t waste as much money on this hotel as we did. I genuinely feel sad writing this as we did make it a good holiday between us as a family but all in all it just was so bad in regards to the hotel.

First of all when we arrived, the reception staff when booking in were not great English at all and kept having conversations between themselves, they attempted to put a all inclusive wrist band on our 1 year old son.. which we thought was bizzare, he wouldn’t sit still, we was all tired and she was grabbing his arm trying to put it on and we were trying to say like he’s a baby why does he need this!! In the end her colleague told her to stop and not proceed with it.

Next issue, we asked reception to confirm we had a cot set up in our room … wow, that’s when we was told we had to pay an extra 90 euros for a cot?! We asked to speak to the manager who was so so rude, in our opinion we have booked for 2 children, a baby and 2 adults. Our 2 children had a bed, us adults had a bed, so why would our son not be provided with a bed?! We had to end up paying it as the manager was having non of it. No one showed us to our apartment ( it’s a big place and lots of uneven paths and hills) it was nearly 1am with a tried crying baby.

The rooms… worst we’ve ever had. Big but disgusting, the sofa bed was broken for our 2 older children and dipped at the front, it was dirty and smelly. This hotel has a serious sewage problem, our sink fridge and shower absolutely stank. After our first night sleep, my husbands side of the bed was noisy and very uncomfortable and so he had a look, the bed was turned over the wrong way… so we turned it to the right way to which he discovered the biggest body fluid type stain , somebodys top and socks!!!!!!!! Absolutely horrendous.

Then our plug, blew up when drying my daughter’s hair! Smoking and burning at the socket!

Our double doors to our 1 bedroom apartments were awful, stiff and hard to close.

The maids were very unhappy, never smiled or said hello and didn’t bother cleaning our room the last few days, we kept running out of towels and toilet roll.

The swimming pool was falling to bits!! There were missing tiles floating everywhere in the pool! children were collecting them!! (This is the pool closest to the beach that was right outside our room)

Very little entertainment, you never see the entertainment team unless you are up at the main pool, we saw them once in reception. In the evenings the big stage pictured was never ever used, they had a small act in a tiny room in the corner it was laughable. The one good night we was excited for was karaoke in which the WiFi kept loosing connection and we were left in the middle of songs waiting for 5 minutes!! Typical.

2 drinks per person and they are very strict on this. The timings for the boat bar just did not make any sense, they would turn off the vending machine from like 6pm, the bouncy castle they had for a few nights they would basically deflate it with the children still bouncing at 7pm. Bar closes at 11pm but last serving 10:30pm but then there is absolutely no where else to go unless you want to climb a thousand hills up to the other inclusive place which is miles and no seats just a dance floor?! Which doesn’t open until 10pm anyway. The kids bit in the ocean bar has very run down machines, kept loosing money in them.

This hotel seems to run purly for party goers as it’s close to the strip, they seem to have forgotten about children and families.

Food was okay, but not much choice at all and so small and busy. The best thing was the kabab truck down at the ocean/boat bar.

To be honest, I’m struggling to write any positives which is really sad. The beaches were okay but not the prettiest, actually a bit dirty and the water was far from clear. But we made the most of an expensive holiday between us as a family. We will not be returning.

Very good. The food was good and the waiter TidJane was brilliant,very friendly and pleasant and extremely helpful.

Perfect location, great atmosphere, awesome rooms.

The restaurants are wonderful, especially the Peri Peri restaurant.
