The Inatel Albufeira is centrally located close to the heart of the picturesque old fishing village of Albufeira and conveniently near to the beach. The large reception area has a modern relaxed feel and is the perfect place to unwind. There are a large number of shops, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a sports complex with indoor and outdoor activities with the nearest golf course being just 10 minutes drive from the hotel.
Reading previous reviews I was a bit apprehensive about booking this hotel. I've been to Albufeira many times but normally stayed towards the strip. As I was coming with a couple of friends who'd never visited Albufeira I thought this would be a good place as a starting point to explore everything.
The hotel in fact exceeded my expectations considering the price we had paid. We were based in the main building, everything was smart and clean in the main reception area and communal spaces. Our rooms albeit slightly dated were not as bad at all as expected, I shared a room with a friend and it was spacious and tidy. There was plenty of room for 2 guests. Our bathroom was large with a huge shower, the room was tidied daily along with a towel change.
We had breakfast included with our stay and everything was fresh with plenty of options to suit everyone, the one thing that was a slight minus point for me was the coffee! I really didn't enjoy it but my friends were fine with it.
They have a nice bar area on floor 1 which we visited a few times, had lots of tvs with sport on and also decent background music. I believe a pint of lager was about 3 euros. I didn't try any other drinks but they seemed to have a list for cocktails etc.
The pool area was fabulous, it's in the sunshine all day long which is a big plus point. The pool was huge, the loungers albeit dated did the job.
All in all I had a great visit here and would visit again in a heartbeat if I was able to get a decent deal. Hats off to the professional staff and how clean everything was.
Booked this hotel as close to the beach and an adult friendly claimed. I got a bedroom separated from the main corridor with rooms for groups ar they have simply functional three single beds with a view of a building site. I looked to move but they refuse although their occupancy is possibly 60% or lower.
Definitely the worst hotel I've stayed in.. security behind the counter at night was so unhelpful, all I wanted was water to my room, was told to drink from jar in reception, which only had about 100ml of water left in it.. so unhelpful and ignorant. Really felt racial discrimination against me while I was here, would not book this hotel again
Location was good but this place is a mess. We get here and are told check in isn’t till 4 pm. They don’t have beach towels or cards for us to get in and out. They don’t offer to take our suitcases and store them. Then 4pm comes and they waste a half hour with someone about if they got breakfast or not and there are 6 couples waiting for their rooms in the lobby. There are birds nests under the overhang of the roof and bird poop everywhere. For almost ca 300 a night?? No way first and last time. It’s non refundable so if you leave you’re paying anyway so the got you.
We were really unlucky to end up at this hotel. The website where we made the reservation only mentioned the main building, so we didn’t even suspect that anything might go wrong. We dropped off our suitcases, checked in, and returned to the hotel yesterday around 8:00 p.m. We were given our keys and went to our room. In addition to the old building, we were greeted by a room that looked like a hospital ward and smelled just like one. But the icing on the cake was that our window overlooked a construction site and the guys who go there to use the restroom at night. We’ve never had an experience like this before. We booked the hotel in advance with breakfast included, paid in full, and expected decent conditions and service. Instead, we got an old hotel with hospital-like conditions, and the front desk couldn’t care less about our requests. Absolutely. One night is okay—it happens—but this is already the second night, and we have no other options. Seriously, don’t choose this hotel if you want a good vacation. The photos don’t match reality, and the staff couldn’t care less where they put you up! Hotel management, please pay attention to how the hotel is run and to helping your guests! We went to the front desk about five times; they promised to switch us to another room and said we’d have to pay a small extra fee, which was fine with us. It’s been two days and absolutely nothing has happened! We still have four more nights to spend in these conditions, and it’s absolutely horrifying. Maybe it’s normal for you to pay money and put up with construction workers and men urinating in the hallway at night, but for us—and for other normal people—it’s not. This is a lack of respect for your guests—a complete lack of respect. We were willing to pay extra; we don’t want to cause a scene, but we’re being treated like animals. It’s a nightmare, not recommended!!!
