Not as bad as expected from reading reviews
Booked here then read reviews so I was pretty apprehensive as to what it would be like - had booked a deluxe studio apartment half board (I did think it was quite expensive when I booked it) - we arrived before we were allowed to check in - but that was no problem- the room was ready - but we asked for 2 single beds so they asked if we could go back for the keys (but even that was still before the official check in time) - we were able to leave our luggage until we went back for the keys. We went back and the receptionist remembered who we were and what room we were getting. They carried our bags to the room. The room itself was clean and had everything we needed - some things were possibly old but everything worked. We went for food in ages restaurant- it's buffet and they obviously know what people will eat and they have themed nights as well - found things we both eould eat and lots of fruit and veg to choose as well. The breakfast had a lot of choice as well. The hotel is built in a hilky part of Albuferia - abd thank goodness for reading reviews as it meant we took the lift up to level 6 from reception to avoid a steep hill- I was struggling with the hill from our block up to reception so I was very relieved for that. There is also a lift to go to the pool. One thing that was annoying was although signs said sunbeds were not reserved - people put towels on yhem before the swimming pool area was even open- those who were not reserving sunbeds either got a broken one or had to hope that they were able to get one if sunbathing. We were in block F so had noise from the pool area during the day, but we didn't get the noise from the strip that i had read about- one night we were late in and parked in the car park at level 6 and the comparison between where and where we were was night and day for the noise. One slight issue we had was the air con leaked when it was on fully and we over heard others saying they were waiting for the air con guy - so not sure if its a generic issue. They also sell day passes for others to use - which i guess means people who don't stay there have access - I overheard a group who had done this saying it was the cheapest in the area - the day pass seemed to include food as well as access to the facilities. So all in all I was pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews and expecting the worse - probably agree it's not 5 star (but i don't know what 5 star is like)
Great holiday
Had a fun time good meals not much vegetarian meals but was good lovey pool and beach nice rooms but there were ants and it had great service

Shamraiz was great, really looked after us made sure drinks were topped up and food was great

Its ok only issue was lot of flies in buffet bread section because it hot and the toilet seat was broken with mouldy chip in microwave and cleaner only comes only once every two days the buffet staff were only reason I give this a 4 they were so kind and attentive and helpful indian thali wasnt good atall but indian buffet was amazing but the whole restaurant thing was only for all inclusive guests in the hotel
Not Good
This is not a 5 star hotel at all, no one around to help with luggage on arrival at midnight. Took lift up to 6th floor to then go outside through a gate and up 2 lots of steps to our room. Furniture basic and tatty in living area. There was ants in the bathroom and on the towels, ants in the bedroom and in the bed. The electric tripped most nights, the phone was out of service. The cleaners didn't change the bedding unless we asked them too. After that bed change we noticed the bottom sheet was ripped and didn't even fit properly. We had to fetch our own tea coffee and sugar from restaurant. One morning we wanted a cup of tea and the cleaner had removed the 3 cups we had. To get to the restaurant we had to come down to reception go out to car park and walk a distance, down several stairs to go eat. The food was cold on several occasions. We were told we could eat at MGM sister hotels where again you had to walk some distance to be met by a very large queue to enter as the food was better there. No lock on patio door. We will not come back to this hotel, should be a 2 star not 5 star.
