Completely renovated,the Hotel California Urban Beach Hotel 4* reopens with a sophisticated image and an Adults Only concept. With a prime location, situated in the historycal center of Albufeira and at 02 minutes' walking distance from the beach. All rooms with a modern desgin, have a double bed and private bathroom with shower, air-condiotining, Smart-Tv, safe, mini fridge and tea & coffee facilities.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I have just returned from a 3-night stay at this hotel - I never write reviews, however, the fact that I felt urged enough to share my experience is a testament to the quality and service that this hotel provides.
• Location - The hotel is directly above the old town strip, which was perfect for us as we went on a party holiday. The ground floor entrance is situated directly on the strip, with immediate access to a large shop for any necessities and all of the clubs/bars that the strip is famous for. • Room - The room was stunning, and felt really looked after and well maintained. We had no issues with noise from the strip, partying was slightly audible but this was part of the charm of its location and was not loud enough to disturb our sleep. The only downside of the room was the lack of storage space for clothes, meaning that we had to live out of our cases. Not too bad for a 3 night stay, but could pose a greater issue if we were there for longer. • Food/drink - Some of the best bar food and cocktails we have ever tasted. We cannot stop thinking about the chicken caesar salad wrap and would HIGHLY recommend. • Service - All staff were extremely pleasant, always smiling and always made us feel looked after and welcomed to their home.
I will definitely be staying in this hotel again, and really look forward to our next trip.

Excellent hotel with great breakfast and pool area. I stayed here before and the bathroom setup is a bit improved but I still think a private bathroom setup would work better for most people.
The staff in the bar/breakfast area are very nice and helpful and breakfast is excellent.
It's very convenient to great restaurants. Noise from the bars was not an issue at all. We were never disturbed.
Good location, can be noisy depending on where your room is. Some rooms have no closet/wardrobe so nowhere to hang your clothes! Staff all friendly and helpful. Food at pool bar very nice. Drinks reasonable price. Very strange layout, had to use two different lifts sometimes, at opposite ends of hotel to get to where you need to be, took us two days wandering through a 'rabbit warren' to get our bearings. But all in all a great 4 days.
Perfect location , will definitely be back , nice chilled atmosphere.Rooms are very modern and sleek but unfortunately ours had an overwhelming damp /earthy smell. It is the old town but it was strong . Really enjoyed our stay and was excellent value . Breakfast was lovely and kept well stocked up by the lovely staff . Especially Rita who always greeted us with a lovely smile. Thank you Oh and indoor pool was great.
My friend and I stayed at Hotel Indigo Albufeira from 30th September to 7th October, and I cannot speak highly enough of the hospitality we received throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, the staff were absolutely exceptional. Every member of the team we encountered was friendly, welcoming, helpful and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.
A special thank you to Flavio, who was such a lovely, warm and accommodating person. He was always checking that we were okay, asking how our day had been and taking a genuine interest in what we had been doing. Those little conversations made such a difference and really added to our experience.
Gopal at reception was another standout member of the team. He was one of the first people we met and immediately made us feel welcome. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and whenever he saw us, he would check that everything was okay. His friendliness and attentiveness were greatly appreciated.
And then there was Lizandro — my absolute favourite! From the moment we met him, he was welcoming, attentive and so helpful. Whenever he saw us, he made sure we were looked after and that everything was okay. He really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and I cannot thank him enough for the care and attention he showed us.
I also want to give a special mention to the spa team. The ladies were so sweet, friendly and helpful, and our spa experience was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our massages, which were excellent, and it was a real highlight of our stay. A huge thank you to them for making the experience so enjoyable.
What really stood out to me was that the exceptional hospitality wasn't limited to just a few individuals. From reception and housekeeping to the pool service, spa team and even the maintenance staff we encountered around the building, everyone was pleasant and welcoming. It takes a great team to create that kind of atmosphere, and the staff at this hotel should be incredibly proud of themselves.
As for the hotel itself, it is a lovely, cute little hotel in a fantastic location, right on the doorstep of Albufeira's Old Town, with everything conveniently close by. The pool is small, but the hotel suited our needs perfectly for a short stay. I had expected there to be a gym, which unfortunately wasn't the case, but that aside, we had a really enjoyable experience.
My biggest takeaway from this stay was the people. Good customer service is one thing, but genuine warmth, kindness and a willingness to go the extra mile are something special. The team made us feel welcomed, cared for and comfortable throughout our stay, and that is something I will remember.
