Couples holiday for husbands 50th
Visited to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday and treated ourselves to one of the executive suites and we’re not disappointed! Views were absolutely spectacular! Perfectly located for both the old town and the marina. Rooms were spacious- a little dated but fully functional. The food wasn’t amazing but lots of places to eat nearby. Quite around the pool, always managed to get beds. Staff were extremely pleasant and could not do enough for you- even surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco on my husbands birthday! All in all fabulous stay and would definitely stay again- thankyou Boa Vista.
Worst accommodation experience ever
Worst hotel ever I’ve ever stayed!! Very far away from 4 stars… 2 stars would match the reality… bad lobby, bad furniture in the rooms, nasty personnel, breakfast always the same and at very low quality and quantity. Avoid this hotel!!
Nice hotel
The Boa Vista Hotel suited our needs exactly. The location was close to our friends' home, and the atmosphere was nice. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was excellent. It is not an outstanding hotel, but as it is comfortable and cozy, I recommend it.
Disappointed
We arrived to hotel with no welcome no conversation just given key card and to sign form and to pay tax I requested a good view room for our special occasion - the room was clean enough fresh. Bedding and towels room was poor view and during the night woken by loud neighbours with no consideration for other guests we went for evening meal to be greeted by a very abrupt waiter made to again not feel welcome we had the soup to start it was cold the main meal was fries and some sort of meat which was terrible we were so hungry after travelling had to leave restaurant and try to find somewhere else to eat Never used pool area hotel grounds seem maintained We took the risk and tried breakfast which was acceptable I thanked the waiter for taking away our plates he grunted maybe not happy I left food previous night before not sure
After been to Portugal several times before this was a short visit for my husbands birthday and I’m Pleased that we were only staying at this hotel for this length of time as I would of left if a longer stay didnt feel welcome and on departure which was early morning no empathy again from staff who unlocked door
Disappointing experience
First of all, by-and-large the staff were trying their best to manage the hand they’ve been dealt with. The welcome was ok, nothing special. The 4pm check in time is not market and a kick in the teeth after a 6am departure from the U.K. The breakfast was acceptable. The biggest issue is that serious investment and refurbishment is needed in the hotel complex (I understand this may be happening over the coming winter). The decor very dated. Had to switch rooms as there was significant damp forming on the ceiling caused by the air conditioning unit. Significant maintenance was needed, yet other guests were in the room same day! I took a downgraded first room change but the other option had a serious odour. Tempted to ask for a 25% refund as I was paying top dollar during peak summer, but didn’t do so. The view from every room is a stunner, and it’s only a short walk to the beach and Old Town. That’s the real selling point.
