This elegant and comfortable hotel overlooks the sea at Sesmarias. It is less than half a mile to the nearest beach and about two miles from the centre of Albufeira which offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants. The well-tended gardens of the hotel offer a scenic backdrop of lawns and palm trees to a large outdoor pool. The Algarve's varied attractions are within easy reach of the hotel.
We had a good time. Staff at restaurant were friendly and helpful, specially Andy, he made our stay so much fun with his positive energy. Food overall good, however lack of labels, most of it did not have or wasn't descriptive enough. Clearly if you have any allergies or intolerance the labels wouldn't help you. Water only in bottles, so you have to pay for it. The bar at the pool was the best part, amazing service, very welcoming - very helpful regarding where to go, how to get there, specially Kauan cheerful and lively, also Ingrid, they were always smiling, making the best drinks, making sure we were being taking care of. Food at the pool was great. Pool area very clean and easy to find a spot to sit down and relax, read a book with so many different options of chairs ( sofas, rocking chairs) lovely size pool. Downside is that smoke was allowed, breaking the beauty of the place, did affect my ability to relax. They have an area for smokers in the pool area, however, in a open space with wind, it's like they were beside you. Reception staff not very helpful and rude, hard to get information from them. They charge for pool towels (deposit charge) very cheap ones, but you have to use cash. When we said we didn't have any cash with us the lady just looked at us. Later, we managed to get some cash, with a male manager (he was very helpful and friendly) they have an ATM machine, outside attached to the hotel, beside the newsagent, She could just have told us that. Great location, close to a beautiful beach, clean rooms and no problems with noises. In general people great atmosphere.
We just returned from a very enjoyable stay. This is our second time staying and they’ve refurbished the bathrooms and moved the dining room to the 4th floor which has amazing views. I’d like to see the refurbishments extending to the rest of the hotel in time. Food was nice but felt the selection was limited in the evening. Although breakfast was plentiful. Great food served from the pool bar. Staff were amazing and very friendly apart from one woman. Although they provide a free shuttle bus, you need to reserve your place ahead of time. Ubers are very affordable.
It was amazing. Been here with a big group of people with special needs and that went all the way to make it the best experience for us. The food tasted amazing and they paid attention for all the allergies.
Amazing staff, super friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. The pools are super clean too. Will definitely come back!
Firstly, I will say that the hotel is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms beautiful.
Location wasn't the best as nothing in surroundings really but having said that there was a shuttle bus 3 times a day provided for free which was a saving grace. Most staff were really lovely and kind, always happy to help, particularly Andre who worked in restaurant.
Some staff on reception could do with some extra training in how to speak to people.
Down side.......we paid full board. So this means breakfast, lunch and dinner. All drinks had to be paid for which ok is acceptable but water? Literally was so expensive 😩 we had to go out and buy cheap water for our room as paying 5 euros for a bottle is astronomical. There wasn't even a water machine where we could fill up our own bottle. So when we went for dinner we just ate and left. Shame really..because we were full board you would expect plenty of high quality food.....unfortunately not the case, and the choice is extremely limited. I felt cheated to be honest we ended up eating out a lot but again only very few surroundings with restaurants that were very expensive. We weren't even allowed ice cream at lunch time 😒. Again we were full board. Even had to pay for towels, and a swimming cap for the indoor pool! I did purchase this as wanted to exercise. This isn't a 4 star hotel in our opinion, should be 3. Housekeeping was very poor aswell, often wanting to clean our room at 5pm . Most of the time it was around 2pm.
Entertainment was awful. Every night people just sat around reception on their phones while someone sang very badly or played saxophone. Nothing to get people Entertained at all.
We tried to just make the best of it, but would never come again. Poor quality for 4 star hotel. Sorry
