ln the picturesque village of Olhos de Água (Albufeira), a traditional fishing village that perfectly combines calm and tradition with all the needed comfort and facilities, you will find the perfect place for an amazing carefree holiday on an All Inclusive basis. Explored until 2021 by another hotel group, it reopened in April 2022 under the 3HB Hotels brand – now as 3HB Guaraná! Surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve, it will be difficult to choose between a day at the beach, in one of the two outdoor pools or in the heated indoor pool. There is also a children's pool exclusively for the little ones of the family! A varied gastronomic offer with 3 different restaurants, pool bar, swim-up bar, lounge bar and snacks will delight everyone. But as All Inclusive also means lots of fun, services and activities, we also have to highlight the complete entertainment programme, SPA, gym, multipurpose court, kids club and playground, Disco-bar and free Wi-fi in the rooms and common areas.
Went to this hotel from 21/09 to 28/09. Had not been to Portugal for 42 years. I can only give the highest praise for this hotel. From the check in experience to the Check out experience we cannot complain. We arrived at 22.00, still managed to get booked in and get to the bar for a drink or two. I was immediately impressed by how friendly and helpful the bar staff were. This was in the M Bar which is the main entertainment area. The whole experience in the hotel was brilliant, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the cleanliness could not be faulted. There is more than enough for all to enjoy the facilities here. We are two 70+ pensioners who enjoy a good time, but this would also be perfect for our grandchildren. The rooms were great, but my only niggle would be that tea and coffee and a kettle were supplied, but no milk. However, a cup from the restaurant soon remedied that. The food in my mind was great and varied with a good selection of local specialities, including a very good Cataplana. The local area was ample, with enough shops and food places and the excellent local beach was only a ten minute walk. To go further to explore, I would recommend Uber taxis and downloading the App if you do not already have it. Would we go back!! Hell yes, this time with family. We did not find the pool cold and spent some time at the swim up bar with Vodka Slushies😀👍
Arrived for week in September as a couple. Checked in quickly by a lovely reception it’s called Telma Rodriguez ( or similar? Sorry!) we had an early flight so no surprise our room wasn’t ready. She took our number and said she would give us a call. Literally 30 mins later our room was ready…Brilliant!
Decent sized room with a rubbish view. Was nice and clean. Nice soft towels and the provided toiletries were good. Bathroom a decent size too. Lots of hanging space and drawers. Lots of plug sockets too which is good. Fridge provided and a free safe which was appreciated. The room was tidied and towels changed everyday.
At busy times the lifts were a bit of a wait but not too bad as the stairs are nearby.
There is a tiny playground and mini splash park for the kiddies but these looked worn out and very dated and perhaps out of action? Not sure!
1 huge swimming pool with swim up bar and 1 decent sized swimming pool and a jacuzzi pool All very clean but OMG they were sooo cold. Even the little children’s pool was so cold. I’m not the bravest.
Sunbeds? This is a big thing for me. I absolutely hate the reserving and hunting for a sunbed. However, 100% has this hotel got it right with the amount of sunbeds. The hotel was very busy, but no matter what time we went to the pool areas there were sunbeds. What is more, a choice of sunbeds, sun, shade, busy, quiet. Fantastic! Yes people were reserving their fav beds but I could cope with that. The whole pool area was clean. You are not allowed to bring food out of the restaurants to the pool area ( people did). There was a bit of a problem with flies though. Very annoying!
Food? Hmmm the main restaurant was hit and miss imho. Typical AI The med restaurant was very nice as was the Oriental.
We found 90% of the staff quite lovely, helpful, hardworking and friendly.
Getting drinks in the evening was a joy compared to some AI hotels. I think the longest I queued for was 5 minutes The last hotel I was in was 40 mins which I find unacceptable. It would help if there was a self serve beer pump as it could be quite different in August or schools hols.
Location? The hotel is in a very quiet area and mainly for families. We had to Uber to Old Town but it was cheap enough. The nearest beach is about a 10 minute walk, it’s small but suited us just fine.
We caught the bus to Vilamoura which was over €4 each which shocked me, we got an Uber back which was €9. I wish I had known this before and left the bus alone. There is a very small mini market nearby but the prices are sky high…avoid!
Would I return? Perhaps not due to the location but who know if the price was right. Would I recommend? Yes I would, particularly if you have children as it’s geared for families.

We had a lovely time at 3HB Guarana.
As a family of 6 they were very accommodating, ensured we were in rooms close by to each other (note that we are a family of older teenagers and adults so do not require connecting rooms).
The facilities in this hotel were great, pool areas were lovely and clean just on the colder side.
Our rooms were very comfortable and cleaned everyday which was lovely!
Food choices were excellent- plenty of choices and did great Gluten Free food for our youngest traveller with coeliac disease.
Great value for money!
I have to write a review of this hotel because it’s a brilliant place to stay from beginning at the reception it was perfect the staff there were very welcoming. And Alonso was so helpful when we had a small problem with our safe he sorted it straight away he’s good at his job . We had a lovely quiet room the cleaner Simone kept it so clean brilliant xx now the food wow so nice and something for all people perfect . And to finish we were just a couple but we we’re so well looked after by all the bar staff they are great , oh and entertainment too perfect From a grateful DAVID & Susan joiner
Just got back from a week at this fantastic hotel. The staff can’t do enough to make your stay one to remember. The facilities are first class and the hotel spotless and the quality of the food is first class. Olhos de Aguas is a small village with a lovely beach five minutes away but if you have a family with young children there is loads to do in the hotel with water slides, a nice play area and 3 really good pools. The entertainment team work hard and there are plenty of things do , both in the day and night times. This has become one of my favourite hotels.
