Palazzo Consiglia is a traditional Maltese townhouse situated at the heart of Valletta in St Ursula Street, just a few metres away from the St Rocco's church and key attractions such as the Lower Barrakka Gardens, Valletta Waterfront and Fort Saint Elmo. This flawless building portrays Malta's rich history, with a predominant Baroque design in the lower floors, and Roman and Arabic features that can be observed in the newest parts of the Palazzo. The restoration of this building was undertaken with as minimal intervention as possible, in order to preserve its essence and expose the grandeur of the limestone work present in its interior. The façade has been meticulously cleaned, exposing architectural characteristics that have been illuminated with carefully selected lighting fixtures.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, including an outdoor pool, an indoor pool and a sauna. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and babysitting (surcharge).
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We Absolutely loved the hotel. The service was lovely, the atmosphere was perfect boutique, intimate and charming. Breakfast was of a good quality. Exactly what we wanted.
The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars was the bathroom. Though it looked beautiful in itself, it followed the trend hotels seem to be adhering to now - glass doors, and worse a side glass pan em which was only partially frosted.
Tell me, who wants to go on a romantic holiday with a partner and see and hear everything that takes place in the bathroom??? We had to settle on an arrangement that if I needed privacy to use the loo he’d have to leave the room and he had to resort to use the facilities elsewhere in the building. Still, not something we’d get around if one of us needed to go in the middle of the night.
Every single movement, drop or splash will resonate in your room given the substantial gap in the door, as if the glass alone wasn’t problem enough. Plus, there’s a safety night that stays in all the time that is also irritating.
Hotels - please stop this inconvenience of bathrooms without privacy.
Other than that, a beautiful place to stay.
Our second stay in two years. A beautifully restored hotel tucked away on a side street five minutes walk from Valletta’s bustling bars and restaurants. Can’t praise this place enough. The staff are wonderful, the rooms quirky and spotless and the breakfasts delicious. I have no hesitation in recommending it.
This is a beautiful historic hotel, carefully restored and right in the heart of Valletta. The staff are so helpful and welcoming. Our room was spotless, spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Valletta and beyond yet it is tucked away in a quiet street. Lots of restaurants, the main tourist sites and shops are in easy reach. We would happily return.
Have just returned from a 4 night stay at this fantastic boutique hotel situated in a quiet street yet centrally located for visiting all of the sights of the wonderful city of Valletta and beyond. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the breakfast both in choice and quality was excellent. However, what really stood out was the exceptional team of staff. Thank you to everyone at the Palazzo Consiglia for making our stay so enjoyable! I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Valletta.
What a fabulous little boutique hotel. From the minute you are warmly welcomed on arrival to the moment you leave you experience a very special place. Made special by the wonderful staff, every single person plays their role to perfection. They clearly delight making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Highly recommended. I doubt you’d find a better place to stay in Valletta. Well done team Palazzo Consiglia.
