Welcome to Domus Zamittello, a restored 17th century palazzo, ideally located at the beginning of Republic Street, just as one enters the cultural capital city of Valletta. Domus Zamittello invites guests to enjoy the vibrant and cultural baroque capital along with its high-end shopping addresses whilst appreciating the architectural beauty of this prestigious building. The hotel offers accommodation in different elegantly designed classic rooms, some overlooking the hotel courtyard whilst those on South Street overlook the open theatre.This comfortable Hotel is located in Valletta. This elegant 17th Century home had originally been part of the earlier estate of the Auberge D'Italie, one of the langues of the Order of St John. Recent research dates the palazzo back to 1633 when it was used by various knights of Italian descent. and was then known as Casa Pensa. In 1805, after the departure from Malta of the Knights of St John, the British Governor granted ownership of the palazzo to Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt, for services to the Crown. In recent years, the present Count of Mont'Alto, a descendant of Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt after whom the palazzo is now named, embarked on a project to enlarge it and restore the entire property to its former glory. Opened in 2018, Domus Zamittello has 21 elegant and comfortable rooms, out of which six suites, five of which are spacious duplexes. The spacious 125 sq m sun terrace on the third floor overlooks Republic Street, as well as the entrance to Valletta, the Triton Fountain and beyond. Reception service is available 24 hours a day.

A little gem!
A beautiful hotel in a fabulous central location, what makes it truly special though, are the staff! Friendly, polite and always eager to help, they made our stay very special.
Amazing Hotel, Best Location. Incomparable.
Seriously, phenomenal. This gem has it all and not with the tacky, belles and whistles, but with authentic first class elegance. First the structure, its age, its endurance embodies Malta. Its renovation is astonishing. Second, but probably should be rated first is the service. Impeccable. Everyone from the front desk, to the restaurant, housekeeping, they all deserve praise and probably a raise. I cannot stop there. The accommodation was perfect. From the shower, the toiletries provided, daily, the fresh water, the closet space, not to mention the chilled bottle of Maltese wine I could not have imagined. The gesture was as lovely as the wine itself. The turn down at night was elegantly presented, not with the usual chocolate on the pillow, if one is lucky enough, but again a more elegant biscuit. The bed linens have to take center stage. The luscious, oversized down pillows, the high thread count beddings, exemplify the 5 star quality throughout. Lastly, the breakfast. Living is France, its hard for me to compare others to the gold standard, but the breakfast here, the Eggs Benedict prepared...well, all I can say it was off the charts. I am a seasoned traveller and don't rate things lightly. The hotel also arranged a half-day Malta tour with a staff member, Owen, and it was phenomenal. Kudos to all who make the magic happen there.

Beautiful hotel in Valletta Malta ,
From arriving at Domas Zammittello the warm welcome we received from Sandra and Maria was incredible. When we looked around the entrance hall and looked up to see all the rooms and all the ornate decor we couldn’t believe how beautiful it all was. When we were escort to our room by Sandra she opened the door and we definitely had a wow factor. The chandelier was sparkling and the room downstairs was cozy and comfortable. The stairs led to our bedroom and the DZ insignia was proudly displayed on the bed sheets and all the towels. It was so elegant. When we went down to breakfast the staff were extremely attentive to us. The managers Moul and Maria were always present at breakfast answering any questions we had but also sat and spoke to us as though they had known us for years If we had any questions of where we should visit it was immediately answered as to where to go, best way to travel and what to see. Also written information was given to us. If we needed dinner recommendations it was to the best restaurants and they made the reservations. When we needed transportation to the airport it was arranged for us. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definitely be back again

Excellent stay!
Excellent service, perfect location for exploring the vast history of Valetta and Malta. It is an oasis from the busy Republic Street, tet right on it. We only manged to see some of the sights during our stay, and will definitely be back. Warmly recommended!
