Located in St Paul's Bay, Ushuaia Playa Xemxija Boutique Hotel offers a charming stay with complimentary WiFi throughout the property. The hotel provides a 24-hour front desk, room service, and luggage storage for guests' convenience. Each room at Ushuaia Playa Xemxija Boutique Hotel is equipped with a desk, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with bathrobes.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel seemed very small to me. The views were nice, but the cleanliness wasn't very good. The breakfast buffet was very poor. The staff who served us were friendly, but I feel that the reception staff could be more attentive and helpful. I didn't like that the bar didn't have any additional drinks, and the phone could only be used for WhatsApp, which I found unprofessional. The towels had a musty, dried-out smell. Overall, the cleanliness needs to focus on the details and on cleaning the glassware, ceilings, and windows more thoroughly. For the price, it needs a lot of improvement for a 4-star hotel. The spa didn't look like a spa at all; it had a lot of mold. The rooftop terrace was fine, except that the glasses were plastic.
Not remotely a “Resort & Spa” experience
We booked Damare Resort & Spa for five nights but left after the second night because the standard was so poor.
I genuinely do not understand how this property can market itself as a “Resort & Spa” when there was no proper spa facility during our stay. The hotel felt unfinished, badly maintained and cheaply fitted throughout.
We encountered exposed ceilings and services in the corridors, badly fitting carpets, carpet used up the walls instead of proper skirting, damaged and poorly finished walls, tired artificial grass, wobbly stair rails, uncomfortable beds, broken or makeshift steps, a mouldy jacuzzi and power cuts.
The sea access was also extremely poor and looked nothing like the sort of facility you would expect from a hotel presenting itself as a resort.
Unfortunately, the management made the experience even worse. When we raised our concerns, we found the manager rude, dismissive and extremely unpleasant to deal with.
The photos speak for themselves. This was nowhere near the standard we expected from a four-star property, and the difference between how it is presented and what we experienced was huge.
We travel regularly and very rarely leave reviews this negative, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had.
I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
We booked a superior room with a hot tub and the view on the beautiful St.Paul's Bay. We were able to step out from our room and basicaly jump into the water from the shore. The room was very spacious and kept clean every day. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant was always helpful, very professional and hospitable. We felt like at home with amazing views and a very good food. The location of the hotel is rather remote, however we were looking for such a quiet place without discos etc. We definitely do recomend this hotel for the couples which value calm atmosphere , good food and value for money spent.
Fabulous time, from the minute we walked in. Attentive staff and spotless. Room 004 was amazing, beautiful ambience. Breakfast was delicious. Huge pat on the back to all the team working here. Stayed at another hotel, before checking in here. 5 star, staff were not as attentive may I add. Thank you for making my family's time, so enjoyable.
This is my second time at The Damare. We stayed in room 004 and what a lovely room. It’s a delux suite with direct sea access. I love the vibe of these rooms and always feel so chilled in them. The day bed on the balcony is a real bonus. The bathrooms are beautiful and so well thought out. You have a beautiful uninterrupted view of the sea. The staff are all helpful and we found room service great.
I will definitely return to this boutique hotel when visiting my sister.
