Located in the northern part of the island of Malta, right in the heart of Qawra, St. Paul's Bay, the hotel is within walking distance of the sandy beach, the National Aquarium, the bus terminal well linked to all parts of the island, and all other amenities one may require.
One of the largest hotels in Malta with over 500 Moorish themed rooms and suites, it offers with a variety of restaurants and cuisines, bars, spa facilities and 24 hour fitness centre, and children's facilities with a kids club offering daily activities for children between 4 and 11 years old. Apart from the main outdoor pool, guests can also enjoy a heated indoor pool, kids splash pool with a pirate ship feature and an adults-only infinity pool with sky bar overlooking the picturesque St. Paul's Islands.
Gueliz Restaurant is the hotel’s main restaurant serving buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Café Maroc offers a variety of sweet and savoury snacks throughout the day. For dinner there are another six themed restaurants offering a choice of cuisine, with everything from Asian and Italian, to Moroccan dishes. Tagine Restaurant is a Morrocan and Indian buffet restaurant and Rivaj, an Indian restaurant located on the 10th floor. While Yushan Restaurant offers an Asian buffet with views over St Pauls Bay, Salia restaurant offers a choice of A' La Carte menus or sharing menus of Italian cuisine. The adults only Taza Skybar is the hotel’s very own rooftop bar which is open for adults (16+) from July till mid-September serving a variety of cocktails, spirits, non-alcoholic drinks as well as warm beverages.
The modern rooms at San Antonio Hotel & Spa are fully air-conditioned and offer a furnished balcony with either city views, pool views or sea views. All rooms are equipped with with a 32" LCD satellite TV, free fast WiFi is available throughout and with tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is fully accessible with accessible areas and rooms. Situated in the heart of Qawra the db San Antonio Hotel & Spa provides easy access to the bars, restaurants and other places of entertainment in Qawra and Bugibba. Excellent facilities include a fully equipped fitness centre and Spa, which offers a variety of treatments.
Well another holiday has ended for this year and we are so sad to be leaving. But we will see u again Next year. I would love to say a big thank u to Zeeshan for all his help and the lovely room this year. He is a credit to the hotel and Zeeshan I will see u next Year. The hotel has changed a lot of things from last year and all mostly for the better. The Wednesday night dinner on level 10 for AI+ guests only was amazing and made us feel special . My only 2 negative things were the butter was not good and we alway go AI+ which I highly recommended to everyone but we use to be able to vape outside but this year we could not and the smoking area is not shaded and it was very hot on our visit. Zeeshan and all his team made this an amazing holiday ❤️❤️thank u all. A few more thank your, Puja and the other girl in AI+ lounge were lovely and very attentive , they really enjoy there jobs. Babu Ram p. Who cleaned our room. Thank u Mark Looked forward to getting back to see what u had done with the towels everyday. Bihi in the Salia restaurant who was very attentive when we went for dinner. James in the Spa for a lovely hot stone massage
I am not known for writing poor reviews but I was really disappointed in this hotel.
I choose this hotel for the Defected festival and to be close to Cafe Del Mar but wish we had went for the Seaview Hotel or Innside Melia
Start with the bad points
THE FOOD
I’m not a fussy eater but the main buffet restaurant was terrible. When you go 4 or 5 stars then you don’t expect the pasta or even the chips to be cold.
You would even expect at breakfast for someone making omelettes and giving that personal touch but it felt like a school canteen.
We tried the Asian Fusion Restaurant once and it was ok but nothing special.
We stayed for 7 nights but ate out 3 times.
Very poor
The Rooms are decent, the cleaners are great and the pool complex downstairs are all positive.
For paying over £1000 I expected a lot more.
I’d go back to Malta again but would choose Slima, Valetta or St Julian’s.
DB San Antonio is a lovely hotel, clean with a wide selection of food. Beautiful views on the 10th floor and amazing staff. Shout out to Shaira !! Top receptionist we have been greeted by Shaira for the last few years and she is friendly and welcoming and goes out of her way to make us feel welcome and our stay wouldn’t be the same without seeing Shaira each year. 😊
Other memorable staff Maya and James in the Spa. Cedric and Puja, zee for the amazing AI plus VIP meal 🥘 Monika who kept our room spotless ! And also created a swan with towels for our anniversary 💜 Martin in guest relations, what a fab idea especially if it’s your first visit, though we still found it helpful as some things had changed. Sree, Wendy and Cedric in the AI plus lounge went out of their way for anything we needed. And last but not least Nirmala. Thank you all at DB San Antonio! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another memorable holiday. We would highly recommend this hotel.
