The Gillieru Harbour is a small but prestigious hotel with traditional characteristics which is on the waters edge overlooking the old fishing harbour of St. Pauls Bay. Flanked on one side by an ancient chapel, this hotel is in a quaint and idyllic setting yet, just a few minutes away are the shops, restaurants, bars and other tourist activities of Bugibba.
Guest facilities include a pool, with children's pool and surrounding sun terrace with wonderful harbour views. There is also a restaurant, bar lounge and roof terrace.
Overall the stay Was great location very convenient close to shops and public transport water dispenser on every floor but staff not very helpful and not enough PowerPoint's in room.
Stayed at the Gillieru harbour hotel for the 3rd time and it was as amazing as the first time a few changes but still very enjoyable we want 2 say a massive thanx 2 Colette Deepak Simi Ishwar Lekan Samir and Levi who looked after us amazingly wot lovely people always goin above and beyond wot an asset this group of people r 2 your team and thanx 2 the hotel staff as it was my birthday during our stay and u made me and it so special we wouldn’t want 2 stay anywhere else our holiday dates wer 30th July /11 August hope 2 c u all again soon x
Unfortunately, my experience at Gillieru Harbour Hotel was quite disappointing. In my opinion, this hotel does not feel like a 4-star hotel at all. I would personally give it only 2 stars.
The bathroom has almost no space to put your personal belongings. I actually had to use the small white plastic chair provided in the bathroom to place my things. The towels also looked quite old and worn.
The housekeeping service was not very attentive. They did not check or replace basic amenities such as shower caps or cotton buds. There was also no proper hand/tissue paper available, so I had to buy some myself.
Another issue was the room key card. We were given only one card. After going outside in the hot weather, coming back to the hotel and expecting to relax in a cool room, we had to wait and insert the card again before the air conditioning could start cooling the room.
The reception service was also not very welcoming. One of the receptionists, the one with curly hair, did not seem particularly friendly or welcoming.
However, I would like to mention that the restaurant staff were very friendly and provided good service, which was one of the positive aspects of our stay.
Overall, based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you are expecting the standard and service of a 4-star hotel.

First of all I have to say that I have stayed in this hotel before and there are many positives. I like the pool area. It had been refreshed, new paint, umbrellas and sunbeds. The location is great for St.Paul's Bay. Near to restaurants, Mosta road for buses. The ferry to Sliema etc. The staff were lovely. However, my single room was a bit of a disaster. The room didn't have sufficient lighting once the curtains or nets were closed (I had to close them as I was on pool level) I had to ask for a lamp for some extra light. There was only one plug socket in the room. I managed to get an adapter as the fridge wasn't working either. Eventually everything was plugges into a very unsightly adapter on the dressing table. The kettle, the fridge, the lamp and the television were all supposed to run from this. The chair at the dressing table practically gave way when I sat on it as there was no support at the bottom. The toilet seat was loose and eventually came off completely and the telephone didn't initially work! However, the handy mad Abdul was as helpful as he could be. The bed was reasonable comfortable, the pillows were awful. The view was great, although it was a standing balcony, so difficult to see very clearly once sitting. Only just enough space for one chair. I am not sure whether anyone had been in this room for a long time, but at around 100 euros per night I expected better. On saying all of this I still like the feel of the place and the location. I am still waiting for a response from the hotel to my issues.
