Boasting a stunning roof top pool with views over St Julians. Guests' will enjoy relaxing here with a refreshment from the roof top bar serving fresh cocktails, drinks and snacks to help enhance the poolside experience. There is also a lounge bar where you can enjoy a range of drinks from 9am until late. The main restaurant sereves breakfast in a buffet style and has a large dining area. A few steps away, The Avenue Restaurant under the same ownership, serves a choice Mediterranean/Italian dishes. Guests can visit the restaurant to receive a hotel discount.
Rooms are all fully equipped with modern furnishing. Each room features a private bathroom with shower. In-room amenities include a hairdryer, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar/fridge, i-Pod docking station and a satellite LCD TV with a vast selection of channels. All rooms are fully air-conditioned; there is also a ceiling fan in every room. Some rooms also boast a furnished balcony. All economy rooms feature a queen size bed.
Enjoy recreation amenities such as a seasonal outdoor pool or take in the view from a terrace. Additional features at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and a banquet hall.
We stayed here for just under a week, and whilst the hotel lobby and pool areas are nice, our room was quite tired and small. There aren't any mod-cons like USB plugs, etc. but the hairdryer and iron were good. It wasn't as fancy/big as the pictures of the other rooms, but was really clean, and the shower was great. The reception and pool bar workers were really friendly, as were the cleaners we encountered, so we definitely can't fault the staff.
We wish we had looked into the bad reviews more before booking, as the area is really not what we thought "lively" meant. We thought this meant that it wasn't as quiet as Valletta and had some nice restaurant and bar options that might stay open a little bit later than normal. What "lively" means here is that there are a lot of tacky, Ibiza/Benidorm-ish bars and clubs. The noise could be heard in our 2nd floor room until about 3am and then the patrons come back to the hotel screaming, shouting, and banging until 4 or 5am. Then the next morning, the amount of litter on the streets is unbelievable. I would NOT recommend you stay in this area if you aren't the partying type/on a stag or hen do.
The hotel is also surrounded by construction work, though I understand that can't be solved by the hotel themselves. Just be warned that the area is seemingly under constant construction everywhere, and it was a struggle leaving the hotel as there wasn't a functioning pavement next to it and it's on a very narrow road with a lot of traffic. The construction noise did stop at weekends and evenings, but if you want a nap in the day, or to sleep past 9am, you'd struggle.
We paid almost £900 for a very basic hotel room where we couldn't get much sleep. If we ever do decide to return to Malta, we'll be heading somewhere much quieter
spent the last 3 days sick from the aircon out of 5 nights, spent £700 on this hotel just to be sick for most of it. some guy came in the room when we were sleeping without even knocking for housekeeping
Location excellent, close to Saint Julian’s night life. However the area of Saint Julian’s is a little bit trashy and tacky. Atmosphere was good, occasional loud music from guests however in peak season this is to be expected. Room was small but it was big enough for two young girls, we requested a balcony which was accommodated by staff. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially those in reception. In our room the air conditioning was a bit dodgey and the hairdryer didn’t work. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it was definitely worth the money if nightclubs etc are a scene the guest enjoys.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel valentina for our girls trip this year the hotel was lovely, clean and in a good area to get around to do everything. The bar staff are an absolute credit to the hotel, the barman named "Kiran" specifically, he made our stay, he was so polite and extremely friendly and helpful!! A drastic difference in comparison to the desk staff - where the one male with dark brown curly hair told us to "change the view" when we were sat waiting for our transfer. Unsure if he'd never seen women in shorts before? Slightly intimidating to three 20 year old girls and quite an odd comment to make. Other than the poor and quite frankly strange and degrading attitude from the man on the desk, our stay was lovely.
Hotel per se is okay but is situated in what is probably the most ugly street in St Julian’s .
