Hyatt Regency Malta is located in the heart of St Julian's, Malta's premier resort. It is an ideal pied-à-terre from which to explore the island's eight thousand years of history. Set within walking distance from some of the finest lifestyle alternatives in the city and a mere stone's throw away from the pristine beach on St George's bay, you are never far away from the next memorable experience.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. You can take advantage of recreational amenities such as a health club, an indoor pool and a sauna. This Mediterranean hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and a ballroom.
I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with excellent service from the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing. The location was also very convenient, making it easy to get around. I did not like the food in the rooftop bar, it was basic and salty but Seed Restaurant I would recommend.
Overall, I had a great experience at Hyatt Regency and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!
Great location. Very central. Quiet though. Rooms are lovely. Well laid out and clean. If I was being picky I would say they need more drawer space. Pool area and rooftop bar is great but can be hard to get beds at busy time but turnover was quick. Club lounge benefits were good and would recommend. Food was first class at pool and in Seed restaurant. All staff were amazing. They can’t do enough for you.
We had such a lovely stay at Hyatt Regency Malta, and it was an especially memorable visit because we were celebrating a birthday. The hotel went above and beyond to make the occasion feel special — the room was beautifully decorated, and they surprised us with thoughtful birthday treats that were such a lovely touch.
The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Everyone was warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful, and the service made us feel very well looked after from arrival to departure.
Our room was beautiful and incredibly comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel also has a fantastic breakfast with a great selection, making it an easy highlight of each morning.
The location was another big plus. It’s within walking distance of the main St. Julian’s area and close to the beach, so there was plenty to explore nearby while still having a comfortable hotel to return to.
And the rooftop is absolutely gorgeous. The rooftop bar and pool were a real highlight — such a beautiful place to relax, enjoy the views, and unwind.
Overall, Hyatt Regency Malta gave us a wonderful combination of excellent service, a great location, beautiful rooms, fantastic food, and thoughtful personal touches. The birthday surprises made the stay even more special.
Lovely stay at this hotel. Impressed with our room (sea view room) which was very spacious and great amenities. It was also a nice touch with the addition of evening canapés and drinks for regency club guests.
One downside is the size of the rooftop pool which was very small and often quite busy. The spa pool area had very limited changing facilities and so this was difficult if there was more than one person wanting to get changed at any time!
But the thing that makes this hotel 4/5 is definitely their staff, all very friendly and helpful. We had a great experience with them and especially Diego ( at the concierge desk). He helped us organise a great day trip and went out of his way to help us with other things during the stay. Felt a very welcoming hotel and would definitely stay again.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Malta in St Julians Bay, Malta for 10 days in July 2026. We were a family of 5, 4 adults and 1 child. I would not class this hotel as safe or clean for families with allergies/young children.
The issues we had that led to a 3/5 star review were:
Unsafe allergy practices - on 3 occasions through our stay the food we ordered was swapped out without telling us. It is only through my careful looking and questions to staff that I realised this on each occasion and staff were very unbothered and clearly couldn’t see the danger and issue with this. I have a child with allergies who will suffer anaphylaxis and carries an epi pen. Swapping food out is NOT safe or acceptable without asking or notifying. Not once did a manager approach us to discuss or reassure, no effort at all. Even after I complained at the front desk and asked to speak to a manager there were none available.
Green Algae in the rooftop swimming pool - (pool not being maintained properly!) this was an issue throughout the stay. We notified 3 staff members and even brought a cup of water to show. The algae bits were stuck to us and the towels after each pool session. Only 1 staff member was bothered to actually look properly, a female staff member at the bar. Not once did a manager approach us to discuss/apologise.
Room extension - we asked early on to extend our room, happy to pay for this of course. Told several times to come back a different day. Ended up asking again on the final day and were told no, and that there were absolutely no rooms spare. Ended up asking to speak to a manager, again, no manager was available. However a room miraculously became free after I asked to speak to a manager.
Planning - we were put on two separate floors despite booking rooms at the same time. Not ideal for a family with a child. Also not ideal putting a family with a child on a higher floor.
Things that were good:
Sadly I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We have family in Malta and visit fairly frequently over the years, but would not come back here again.
